Egypt Basketball Super League
The Egyptian Basketball Premier League () is the top professional basketball division of the Egyptian basketball league system. Administered by the Egyptian Basketball Federation (EBBFED), it is contested by 16 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Egyptian Basketball Premier League B and replaced by the top two teams in that division. A total of five clubs have been crowned champions of the Egyptian Basketball Super League since its inception in 1972, with Zamalek SC (basketball), Zamalek winning the title a record 15 times and Al Ittihad Alexandria (basketball), Al Ittihad 14 times, though the Egyptian Basketball Super League also saw other champions, including Gezira (basketball club), Gezira (11 times), Al Ahly (basketball club), Al Ahly (8 times) and Alexandria Sporting Club, Sporting (3 times). Egyptian Basketball Federation
The Egyptian Basketball Federation is the governing body of the sport of basketball in Egypt. It joined International Basketball Federation FIBA in 1934. History It was founded in 1934, and was a member of FIBA Europe, as the FIBA Africa zone was not founded until 1961. Offices The Egyptian Basketball Federation offices are located in Cairo. Men's teams The Egyptian Basketball Federation originally focused on the men's Egyptian national basketball team, with their achievements including 9th place at the Basketball at the 1952 Summer Olympics, 1952 Summer Olympics, as well as its 5th place at the 1950 FIBA World Championship. Al Ahly (basketball)
Al Ahly is an Egyptian basketball club of Al Ahly SC, located in Cairo, Cairo Governorate, that plays in the Egypt Basketball Super League. Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex (), built in 1991, consists of four multi-use indoor arenas, indoor sporting arenas located near the Cairo International Stadium in Cairo, Egypt. The seating capacity of The Main Hall (also known as The Covered Hall), which is primarily used for sports, is 16,900 spectators. Construction The complex was completed in September 1991. In 2016, the halls were equipped with an LED lighting system. Events The Main Hall is used for events like badminton, basketball, handball, volleyball, international conferences, parties, and trade fairs. It was built in time for the 1991 All-Africa Games. Zamalek ( , ''al zamalek'') is a ''qism'' (ward) within the West District (''hayy gharb'') in the Western Area of Cairo, Egypt. Desouk
Desouk (, ) is a city in northern Egypt. Located 80 km east of Alexandria, in the Kafr El Sheikh Governorate and had a population of 137,660 inhabitants as of 2011. It is bordered to the west by the Beheira Governorate. Desouk dates back to at least c. 3200 BC and was part of the ancient city of Buto before the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt.
