Egongyan Rail Transit Bridge
The Egongyan Rail Transit Bridge is a suspension bridge carrying the Chongqing Rail Transit Loop line across the Yangtze. It connects Jiulongpo District in the west with Nan'an District in the east. The Egongyan Rail Transit Bridge is located about 70 meters upstream of the old Egongyan Bridge which carries only road traffic. The overall bridge is long, with a main span, making it the longest cable supported transit only bridge in the world by main span. Jiulongpo () is a district forming part of the western part of the Chongqing urban core (). It covers an area of 432 km², with a resident population of 1.54 million and an urbanization rate of 94%. 2024 GDP is 206 billion yuan. Nan'an District
Nan'an District (), is one of the six central districts of Chongqing municipality, China. It covers an area of 262.43 km2, with 44 km2 covered with forests and woods. It has an estimated population of 891,000 in late 2017. Geography The Yangtze River curves around the north and west border of Nan'an district for about 45 kilometers. Egongyan Bridge
The Egongyan Bridge is a suspension bridge which crosses the Yangtze River in Chongqing, China. Completed in 2000, it has a main span of . The connects Nan'an District east of the Yangtze River with Jiulongpo District to the west. Originally, the bridge was built with to be six lanes wide with a pedestrian walkway on each side but was expanded to eight lanes in 2013. The expansion removed the walkways. Pedestrian connectivity was restored in 2019 with the opening of the Egongyan Rail Transit Bridge upstream which has a pedestrian walkway. Lijiatuo Bridge
The Lijiatuo Yangtze River Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Yangtze River in Chongqing, China. Completed in 1995, it has a main span of , placing it among the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world. The bridge carries four lanes of traffic between the Banan District south of the Yangtze River and the Jiulongpo District to the north. In the summer of 2013, the bridge was closed for five days as its steel cables were replaced.
