Eglantina Gjermeni
Eglantina Gjermeni (born November 24, 1968) is an Albanian politician and diplomat. She is an expert in gender equality and she was a government minister for four years. In 2022, she was appointed Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna. Life Gjermeni was born in Krujë in 1968 and she initially studied history. She earned a doctorate in social work at the University of Tirana in 1994 after she had gained her masters Grand Valley State University in Michigan. In the following year she began lecturing at the University of Tirana in the Department of Social Affairs. For a decade she led the Gender Alliance for Development Center in Albania. She was elected to the Albanian Parliament in 2009 and again in 2013. In September 2013 she became Albania's Minister of Urban Development which was a position she held for four years. Krujë
Krujë ( sq-definite, Kruja; see also the etymology section) is a town and a municipality in north-central Albania. Located between Mount Krujë and the Ishëm River, the city is 20 km north of the capital of Albania, Tirana. Krujë was inhabited by the ancient Illyrian tribe of the Albanoi. In 1190 Krujë became the capital of the first Albanian state in the Middle Ages, the Principality of Arbanon. Later it was the capital of the Kingdom of Albania, while in the early 15th century Krujë was conquered by the Ottoman Empire, but then recaptured in 1443 by Skanderbeg, leader of the League of Lezhë, who successfully defended it against three Ottoman sieges until his death in 1468. The Ottomans took control of the town after the fourth siege in 1478, and incorporated it in their territories. The University of Tirana (, abbreviated UT) is a public university located at the central borough of Tirana 10 in Tirana, Albania. It was established as the State University of Tirana (SUT) in 1957 through merging of five existing institutes of higher education. The main building was planned by Italian architect, Gherardo Bosio at the beginning of 1940. It is situated at the Mother Teresa Square, south of the city center of Tirana. Grand Valley State University (GVSU, GV, or Grand Valley) is a public university in Allendale Charter Township, Michigan, Allendale, Michigan, United States.
