Eelco Alta
Eelco Alta (23 June 1723, in Makkum, Súdwest-Fryslân – 17 August 1798, in Bozum) was a Frisian clergyman, theologian, and veterinarian. Education Eelco Alta was born in 1723 in the coastal village of Makkum, and studied theology at the University of Franeker from 1737 until 1745, when he started as a minister in the nearby villages of Beers and Jellum. After nine years he moved to the main protestant church of Boazum, where he was to spend almost all of the next fifty years. He was politically active in the last years of the Dutch Republic, siding (although not explicitly) with the forces of republican "Patriotism", partly for religious reasons. During the royalist backlash of the late 1780s, this caused him some problems: some of his sons were actively persecuted, while he was forced to leave Boazum between 1790 and the Batavian Revolution of 1795. NixOS is a free and open-source Linux distribution based on the Nix package manager. NixOS uses an immutable design and an atomic update model. Its use of a declarative configuration system allows reproducibility and portability. NixOS is configured using composable modules, and relies on packages defined in thNixpkgsproject. Eelco Gelling
Eelco Gelling (born 12 June 1946) is a Dutch blues rock guitarist. Gelling played with Cuby + Blizzards (which he co-founded together with Harry Muskee) until 1976. Cuby + Blizzards (1966–1974) Cuby + Blizzards (C+B) was founded by Eelco Gelling and Harry Muskee in 1964. Their first single was released in 1965 followed by a string of albums starting in 1966. During his time with Cuby + Blizzards the band became famous in Holland, Germany and the UK. They played, recorded and toured with Eddie Boyd, Van Morrison and Alexis Korner. In 1966 they toured with John Mayall and when Mayall came over to the Netherlands to stay for a couple of days, he asked Gelling to join the Bluesbreakers. Gelling did not agree and stayed with Cuby + Blizzards. The 1969 album '' Appleknockers Flophouse'' is considered one of the greatest Dutch Blues albums. Eelco Heinen (born 27 April 1981) is a Dutch politician serving since 2 July 2024 as the Minister of Finance. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he held a seat in the House of Representatives between March 2021 and July 2024, and he previously worked as a party staffer. Early life and career He was born in 1981 in the North Holland town Laren and studied computer science at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1998 until 2002. Eelco Schattorie (born 18 December 1971) is a Dutch football manager. He was most recently the manager of Saudi First Division League club Al-Safa. Career Born in Swalmen, Schattorie started as a youth and assistant coach, later becoming the caretaker manager and finally Technical Director for Youth Development with Dutch club VVV-Venlo. Eelco Nicolaas van Kleffens (17 November 1894 – 17 June 1983) was a Dutch politician and diplomat. Biography Eelco van Kleffens descended from an old Frisian family of public servants. He was the son of Henricus Cato and Jeannette Frésine (Veenhoven) van Kleffens. His younger brother Adrianus van Kleffens would later become a judge at the European Court of Justice. He married Margaret Helen Horstmann on 4 April 1935. After receiving a Doctor of Laws degree from Leiden University, van Kleffens worked in the Secretariat of the League of Nations. He became secretary to the Directorate of Royal Dutch Petroleum Co. in 1920. He was appointed Assistant Director of the Legal Section of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1922 and of the Diplomatic Section in 1927, becoming Director of the latter in 1929.
