''Ee.Ma.Yau'' (Malayalam: ഈ.മ.യൗ) is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language independent tragedy film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by P. F. Mathews. It stars Vinayakan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Pauly Valsan, Bitto Davis, Kainakary Thankaraj, Dileesh Pothan and Arya Salim in the main roles. The film had its premiere on 30 November 2017 and was theatrically released on 4 May 2018. The film revolves around the death and funeral of an older man from the Latin Catholic community in Chellanam, Ernakulam district. Lijo Jose Pellissery won the Best Director Award at the 48th Kerala State Film Awards for ''Ee.Ma.Yau''. Vinayakan T. K. is an Indian actor, playback singer, and composer who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He has also appeared in some Tamil language films. He started his career with a cameo appearance in the 1995 film '' Maanthrikam''. Later, he did a couple of films as supporting roles as well as comedian roles. Kainakary Thankaraj ( ml, കൈനകരി തങ്കരാജ്, 18 October 1946 – 3 April 2022) was an Indian actor, who worked in the Malayalam movie industry and Malayalam Drama Theater Industry. Life and career Kainakary, the son of the playwright Krishnankutty Bhagavathar, was born on 18 October 1946 in Kainakary, Travancore. He started acting at the age of 13 and worked on several theater committees, including Kerala People's Arts Club. He made his film debut in Aanappaachan (1978) starring Prem Nazir. He went on to act in over 35 films. Thankaraj started acting in plays while he was still in school and soon became a popular face in the amateur theatre circuit along with Nedumudi Venu, Faasil and Alleppey Ashraf. The Kerala State Film Award for Best Director is an honour presented annually at the Kerala State Film Awards of India since 1969. It is given to a film director who has exhibited outstanding direction while working in the Malayalam film industry.
