Edwin O. Keeler
Edwin Olmstead Keeler (January 12, 1846 in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Ridgefield – December 4, 1923) was an American banker and Republican Party (United States), Republican List of lieutenant governors of Connecticut, Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut from 1901 to 1903. He had previously served as the first List of mayors of Norwalk, Connecticut, mayor of Norwalk, Connecticut from 1893 to 1894. He was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1893 to 1896, and was a member of the Connecticut Senate representing the Connecticut's 12th Senate District, 12th District from 1897 to 1900. Ridgefield, Connecticut
Ridgefield is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. Situated in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, the 300-year-old community had a population of 25,033 at the 2020 census. The town center, which was formerly a borough, is defined by the U.S. Census Bureau as a census-designated place. History Ridgefield was first settled by English colonists from Norwalk and Milford in 1708, when a group of settlers purchased land from Chief Catoonah of the Ramapo tribe. The town was incorporated under a royal charter from the Connecticut General Assembly issued in 1709. Ridgefield was descriptively named. The most notable 18th-century event was the Battle of Ridgefield on April 27, 1777. Ralph Keeler
Ralph Keeler (also Keiler) (1613 – September 10, 1672) was a founding settler of both Hartford, and Norwalk, Connecticut, United States. Early life Ralph Keeler is thought have been born in Lawford, Essex, England in 1613, perhaps the son of another Ralph Keeler who died in Essex in the early 17th century. America He settled at Hartford in about 1639. His home-lot was on what is now the West Park, north of the present site of the Capitol. He was chimney-viewer in 1645. In 1647, he brought Nicholas Gynings to court for "a miscaridge, beateing of isCow". In 1648, he was accused of slander by John Webb, but the jury found in favor of Keeler. He was one of the signatories to the agreement for planting Norwalk in June 1650. He sold his lot in Hartford, and moved to Norwalk in 1651 or 1652, where his brother Walter Keeler also settled.
