Edwin Mackrell
Edwin Joseph Mackrell (16 December 1878 – 24 March 1965) was an Australian politician. Mackrell was born in Strathbogie to farmer George Mackrell and Mary Ann Perkins. He attended state school until the age of fourteen, when he began work in a butter factory at Mansfield. By 1896 he was managing a butter factory at Fish Creek. He went to the goldfields in Western Australia in 1901, returning to Victoria in 1905 but travelling to South Africa in 1908. On 15 July 1910 he married Elsie Flora Harris, with whom he had three daughters. He remained in South Africa until 1916, when he returned to farm at first Boho and then, from 1918, Strathbogie. In 1920 Mackrell was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Upper Goulburn, representing the Country Party. Strathbogie, Victoria
Strathbogie is a town in central Victoria, Australia. It is in the Shire of Strathbogie local government area. At the , Strathbogie and the surrounding area had a population of 304. History The Post Office opened on 10 July 1878. Strathbogie is located in the Strathbogie Ranges. Mount Wombat (799 metres), which includes a floral and fauna reserve, is 4.6 km. to the north-west. Town facilities include a general store/ cafe, war memorial and recreation reserve. Sports & Recreation Golfers play at the course of the Strathbogie Golf Club on Armstrong Avenue. Albert Dunstan
Sir Albert Arthur Dunstan, KCMG (26 July 1882 – 14 April 1950) was an Australian politician who served as the 33rd premier of Victoria from 1935 to 1943 and from 1943 to 1945 and as the third deputy premier of Victoria for five days in March 1935. A member of the Country Party, now the National Party, his term as premier was the second-longest in the state's history and the longest of any third-party premier. He was the first person to hold the office of premier in its own right, and not an additional duty taken up by the Treasurer, Attorney-General or Chief Secretary. Early life Dunstan was born on 26 July 1882 at Donald East, a rural locality in the Mallee region of the colony of Victoria. Malcolm McKenzie (Australian Politician)
Malcolm Kenneth McKenzie (January 1849 – 16 June 1927) was an Australian politician. He was born in Broadford to grazier Alexander McKenzie and Mary McCracken. He attended Scotch College and then worked on his father's property, which he inherited upon his father's death. He married Hannah Le Procka Cain, with whom he had two sons. In 1892, he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Anglesey, by which time he was totally blind. He was defeated in 1903 and contested Upper Goulburn unsuccessfully in 1904, 1907 and 1908, before winning re-election in 1911. He served as a backbench Liberal and Nationalist Nationalism is an idea or movement that holds that the nation should be congruent with the State (polity), state.
