Edward Pangelinan
Edward De Leon Guerrero Pangelinan (October 24, 1941 – February 4, 2023) was a politician from the Northern Mariana Islands. He served as the Chairman of the Marianas Political Status Commission and later as the 1st Resident Representative from the Northern Mariana Islands to the United States House of Representatives. Early life and career Edward De Leon Guerrero Pangelinan was born October 24, 1941. He attended the University of Guam for two years before transferring to George Washington University to earn his bachelors. He earned his Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law becoming the first Chamorro male lawyer in the Northern Mariana Islands. Pangelinan married Dulce G. "Lucy" Pangelinan with whom he has six children. One of his children, James, attended West Point and is a Colonel in the United States Army. United States Congressional Delegations From The Northern Mariana Islands
The United States congressional delegations from the Northern Mariana Islands consist of single Delegate elected at-large. The first non-voting delegate to the United States House of Representatives, Gregorio Sablan, was elected in 2008 and took office in 2009. Resident Representative From 1978 to 2009, in accordance with the Northern Mariana Islands Commonwealth Constitution, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands elected a Resident Representative who had no actual privileges in the House or Senate. They served two year terms until 1990, when the terms were increased to four years. Non-voting Delegate In 2008, with the passage of the Consolidated Natural Resources Act of 2008 by the United States Government the Resident Representative was replaced by a non-voting Delegate. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is the repository of presidential records from the administration of Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the United States, and the burial place of the president and first lady, Nancy Reagan. It is the largest of the 13 federally operated presidential libraries, containing millions of documents, photographs, films and tapes. There is a permanent exhibit covering Ronald Reagan's life, as well as memorabilia such as Air Force One, the aircraft personally used by the president, and a section of masonry from the Berlin Wall. Ronald Wilson Reagan ( ; February 6, 1911June 5, 2004) was an American politician, actor, and union leader who served as the 40th president of the United States from 1981 to 1989. Congress Of The Trust Territory Of The Pacific Islands
The Congress of Micronesia was a bicameral legislature in Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands from 1964 to 1979. History The Congress was established on 28 September 1964, when the US Secretary of the Interior Stewart Udall issued order no. 2882. It replaced the previous Council of Micronesia, which had been based outside the Trust Territory in Guam. The first elections were held in January 1965. The Congress was initially composed of a House of Delegates and General Assembly, which were later renamed the Senate and House of Representatives.
