Edward Farnsworth
Edward Ellis Farnsworth (July 30, 1880 – December 19, 1937) was an American football player, an officer in the United States Army and a member of the Maine State Highway Commission. He was thrice selected as an All-American (1900, 1902, 1903) and is the only individual to have played in five Army–Navy Games. He was, additionally, an author and Theosophist. Football player Edward Farnsworth was born in Charlestown, New Hampshire on July 30, 1880. He graduated from Classical High School in Lynn, Massachusetts. He subsequently attended the United States Military Academy where he played at the halfback, tackle and guard positions for the Army Black Knights football team from 1899 to 1903. He was selected by Walter Camp as a third-team tackle on his 1900 College Football All-America Team. Charlestown is a town in Sullivan County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 4,806 at the 2020 census, down from 5,114 at the 2010 census. The town is home to Hubbard State Forest and the headquarters of the Student Conservation Association. Emanuel Swedenborg (, ; born Emanuel Swedberg; 29 March 1772) was a Swedish pluralistic-Christian theologian, scientist, philosopher and mystic. He became best known for his book on the afterlife, ''Heaven and Hell'' (1758). Swedenborg had a prolific career as an inventor and scientist. In 1741, at 53, he entered into a spiritual phase in which he began to experience dreams and visions, notably on Easter Weekend, on 6 April 1744. His experiences culminated in a "spiritual awakening" in which he received a revelation that Jesus Christ had appointed him to write ''The Heavenly Doctrine'' to reform Christianity. William Tudor Gardiner
William Tudor Gardiner (June 12, 1892 – August 3, 1953) was an American politician and the 55th Governor of Maine. Early life Gardiner was born in Newton, Massachusetts on June 12, 1892, the youngest of five children born to Robert Hallowell Gardiner III and Alice (Bangs) Gardiner. He studied at the Groton School, graduated from Harvard University in 1914, and studied for two years at Harvard Law School. He completed his studies with his brother Robert H. Gardiner, and was admitted to the bar in 1917. First World War During the First World War, Gardiner served in the army. He later became the first lieutenant of the 1st Maine Heavy Artillery. He served outside the United States and participated in the operation that attained the Italian Armistice. After his military service, he established his law career in Portland, Maine.
