Edward Eichenbaum
Levy & Klein was a prominent architectural firm known for their theater designs. Their work includes the Landmark's Century Centre Cinema in Chicago and Marbro Theater in Chicago. Their work also includes the Granada Theatre (Chicago) and North Avenue Baths Building (1921). Edward Eichenbaum is credited with several of the firm's theater designs. North Avenue Baths The North Avenue Baths closed in the late 1980s They were almost torn down, but went-up for auction and were purchased by Steve Soble and Howard Natinsky in 1994. Granada Theatre (Chicago)
The Granada Theatre was a 3,400–seat movie palace located at 6427-41 North Sheridan Road in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. It was constructed in 1926 for the Marks Brothers, who were major theatre operators in the U.S. Edward E. Eichenbaum was the principal designer for the architectural firm of Levy & Klein. Eichenbaum also designed the Marbro, Regal, and Century theatres. The Marks Brothers operated the theatre until 1934, when Balaban and Katz purchased the property. That firm and its successors—United Paramount Theatres, ABC Great States Theatres and Plitt Theatres—operated the facility until approximately 1978. Regal Theater was a night club, theater, and music venue, popular among African-Americans. Located in the Bronzeville, Chicago, Bronzeville neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. The theater was designed by Edward Eichenbaum. and opened in February 1928. Part of the Balaban and Katz chain, the lavishly decorated venue, with plush carpeting and velvet drapes, featured some of the most celebrated African-American entertainers in America. Chicago Landmark is a designation by the Mayor and the City Council of Chicago for historic sites in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Bryn Mawr Historic District
The Bryn Mawr Historic District (pronounced from Welsh for "big hill") is on the lakefront of the Edgewater neighborhood of far-north Chicago, Illinois. It extends along Bryn Mawr Avenue between Broadway and Sheridan Road. Its most prominent features are the Belle Shore Apartment Hotel, Bryn Mawr Apartment Hotel, Edgewater Beach Apartments, Edgewater Presbyterian Church, Manor House, and the northernmost area of Lincoln Park.
