Edward Chamberlain (by 1509 – 29 October 1557) was an English politician. Family Chamberlain was the second son of Sir Edward Chamberlain, MP. His brothers were the MPs Sir Leonard Chamberlain and Sir Ralph Chamberlain. In 1548, he had married Elizabeth Lawrence, daughter of Mr. Lawrence of Fulwell, Oxfordshire. She was the widow of Sir John Welsborne, who had died April 1548. Elizabeth and Chamberlain had one son, Richard. Edward Chamberlain (1480–1543)
Sir Edward Chamberlain (or Chamberlayne) (1480 – 1543) of Shirburn Castle, Oxfordshire was an English soldier knight and Member of Parliament. He was born the eldest son of Richard Chamberlain of Coton, Northamptonshire and his wife Sybil Fowler and succeeded his father in 1497. His mother took out a lease on the Shirburn estate from her brother in 1505, which passed to Edward on her death in 1525. He served as High Sheriff of Berkshire and Oxfordshire for 1505-06 and 1517–18. He was made Keeper of Woodstock Park in 1508 and an Esquire of the Body in 1509. In 1512 he led 30 men in Sir William Sandys' company in an unsuccessful expedition to Biscay led by Thomas Grey, 2nd Marquess of Dorset to assist King Ferdinand's invasion of France. He then commanded a ship during naval hostilities early in 1513, joined the royal army in northern France in the summer, and was knighted at Tournai later that year. Nottingham was a parliamentary borough in Nottinghamshire, which elected two Members of Parliament (MPs) to the British House of Commons, House of Commons from 1295. Edward Hastings Chamberlin (May 18, 1899 – July 16, 1967) was an American economist. He was born in La Conner, Washington, and died in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Chamberlin studied first at the University of Iowa (where he was influenced by Frank H. Knight), then pursued graduate studies at the University of Michigan, eventually receiving his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1927. Economics For most of his career Edward Chamberlin taught economics at Harvard (1937–1967). He made significant contributions to microeconomics, particularly on competition theory and consumer choice, and their connection to prices. He coined the term "product differentiation" to describe how a supplier may be able to charge a higher price for a product than perfect competition would allow. Edward Chamberlayne (13 December 1616 – May 1703) was an English writer, known as the author of ''The Present State of England''. Life The grandson of Sir Thomas Chamberlayne, knight, at one time English ambassador in the Low Countries, and son of Thomas Chamberlayne, Edward Chamberlayne was born at Oddington, Gloucestershire, England, on 13 December 1616. He was first educated at Gloucester, then entered St Edmund Hall, Oxford, at Michaelmas 1634. He subsequently proceeded with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) on 20 April 1638, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) on 6 March 1641. During a part of 1641 he held the office of rhetoric reader at Oxford. Ted Chamberlain
Edward Edinborough Chamberlain (5 July 1906 – 2 April 1993) was a New Zealand plant pathologist. Biography Born in Masterton in 1906, Chamberlain completed his MSc at Victoria University College with a thesis entitled ''An investigation of the nature of'' p''-azophenol'', graduating in 1929. He was awarded a DSc by the same institution in 1939. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand in 1959, and the following year he was awarded the society's Hector Medal, the highest award in New Zealand science. In World War II, Chamberlain was called up for the New Zealand Artillery in September 1940, and embarked as a sergeant with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in mid-1941.
