Eduardo Brito is a Santo Domingo Metro station on Line 2. It was open on 1 April 2013 as the eastern terminus of the inaugural section of Line 2 between María Montez and Eduardo Brito. On 9 August 2018 the line was extended further east to Concepción Bona. The station is located between Manuel de Jesús Galván and Ercilia Pepin. This is an underground station built below Expreso V Centenario. Santo Domingo Metro
The Santo Domingo Metro ( es, Metro de Santo Domingo) is a rapid transit system in Greater Santo Domingo. Serving the capital of the Dominican Republic, it is the most extensive metro system in the insular Caribbean and Central American region by length and number of stations. It began operation in 2004. The Metro is a major part of the "National Master Plan" to improve transportation in Greater Santo Domingo and the rest of the nation. The first line was planned to relieve traffic congestion on the Máximo Gómez and Hermanas Mirabal Avenue thoroughfares, which connect Santo Domingo. The second line, which opened in April 2013, is meant to relieve the congestion along the Duarte-Kennedy-Centenario Corridor in the city from west to east. María Montez is a Santo Domingo Metro station on Line 2. It was open on 1 April 2013 as part of the inaugural section of Line 2 between María Montez and Eduardo Brito. Eduardo Brito
Eduardo Brito (January 22, 1906 – January 5, 1946) was a Dominican Republic, Dominican Baritone singer. He was world-renowned for his voice and took to the stage in many countries performing operas and zarzuelas. The main hall of the Teatro Nacional (Santo Domingo), Dominican National Theater is named after Brito. Early years Brito was born Eleuterio Brito in Puerto Plata (city), Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. He came from a poor family and during his childhood he worked as a shoe-shiner and a candyman. As a young adult, his musical gifts became apparent and Brito in 1926 became acquainted with Julio Alberto Hernández, who helped mold Brito into the great baritone singer that he is remembered as.
