Edsbyns IF
Edsbyns IF, is a bandy team from Edsbyn in Ovanåker Municipality in Sweden founded on 6 June 1909. The bandy section of the club was founded as late as in 1925 was formally made a club of its own on 28 June 2000. Edsbyns IF has played in the highest bandy league in Sweden from 1945 to 1969 and then again since 1971. History Edsbyns IF was founded in 1909. In September 2003, Edsbyn moved to Edsbyn Arena, the first indoor arena for bandy in Sweden, and won the Swedish Championship final in the end of the season. On 26 March 2004, Edsbyns IF played a men's bandy exhibition game at the Streatham Ice Arena in London against Russian Bandy Super League, Russian Super League team Vodnik Arkhangelsk, Vodnik, which ended with a 10-10 draw. The club's bandy section was awarded the Hälsingland Golden Award in 2004. The award has also been given to various individual sportspeople competing for the club. Elitserien (bandy)
The Elitserien (literally, the "Elite League") () is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna Municipality, Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018. Season structure During the regular season the fourteen teams play each other team at home and away - a total of 26 games per team. The top six teams directly qualify for the playoffs for the league championship, while the teams ranked from 7th to 10th enter an additional play-off to decide which teams take the other two championship play-off places. Per Hellmyrs (born 18 March 1983) is a Swedish professional bandy player who is a creative midfielder. Career Club career Hellmyrs was brought up by Edsbyns IF and has represented their senior team, the Russian club Raketa, Swedish club Bollnäs and Russian club Dynamo Moscow. He is one of very few players who have gone from representing Edsbyn to representing Bollnäs, two clubs with a traditional rivalry between them.
