Edmond Seward
Edmond Seward (26 September 1906 – 12 February 1954) was a Hollywood screenwriter who had originally attended Northwestern University and worked as a journalist, before doing some writing for Disney. During the mid-1930s he was brought out to Australia by director Ken G. Hall, to write movies and train Australian screenwriters for Cinesound Productions. "We hired him at one hundred pounds a week as a writer and he laughed at it, but he said he would like a trip to the South Seas, and he came for one hundred pounds a week and brought his wife", said Hall. "He didn't know all that much as it turned out." Seward ended up writing two films for Cinesound, ''Thoroughbred'' (1936) and '' Orphan of the Wilderness'' (1936), as well as adapting ''Thoroughbred'' into a novel. He soon returned to Hollywood, with Hall claiming the writer "had not been a bell-ringing success". Xenia, Ohio
Xenia ( ) is a city in Greene County, Ohio, United States, and its county seat. Located in southwestern Ohio, it is east of Dayton, Ohio, Dayton and is part of the Greater Dayton, Dayton metropolitan area as well as the Miami Valley region. It is the tenth film in the series and the first one to include Bennie Bartlett as part of the team. Plot Pollack, an underworld gambler, is murdered, but before he dies he hides $50,000 that he just won gambling in a newspaper and kicks it under a car. The next day Sach and Slip are walking in the street and find the paper and the cash. Gabe, who is a reporter, runs a story on them finding the money and the gangsters that Pollack won the money from come looking for them. Plot Slip's cousin Jimmy is released from prison for good behavior and comes to live with him and his mother. Unfortunately the only job he can get is stealing cars for a local mobster, Tony Locarno. Slip learns about this and sets out to stop Jimmy from ruining his life. He follows Jimmy to a warehouse that Jimmy is robbing and gets knocked unconscious and is caught by the police. ''Bowery Buckaroos'' is a 1947 American comedy film directed by William Beaudine and starring the comedy team of The Bowery Boys. It is the eighth film in the series and the last Bowery Boys film that Bobby Jordan appeared in. Plot Louie is singing the song "Louie the Lout" about his days in the old west to the boys in the Sweet Shop. All of a sudden a man arrives on horseback and Louie hides from him in the back of the store. The man identifies himself as a sheriff of Hangman's Hollow, a town out west where Louie is wanted for a murder that took place 20 years before. ''News Hounds'' is a 1947 American comedy film directed by William Beaudine and starring the comedy team of The Bowery Boys. It is the seventh film in the series produced by Monogram Pictures. Plot Slip is a copy boy for a newspaper, but dreams of having his own byline. Sach is an aspiring photographer for the same paper. The two of them come across a plot to fix sporting events and go undercover to expose the gangsters. Gabe, who is working for the gangsters, has a story of Slip's published which brings a libel suit against the paper because of lack of evidence. The lawsuit goes to trial, and at the last minute Gabe, who is feeling remorse, retrieves photographs that would back the story and gets them to Slip in time for them to be presented as evidence. ''Bowery Bombshell'' is a 1946 American comedy film directed by Phil Karlson and starring the comedy team of The Bowery Boys. It is the third film in the series and was distributed by Monogram Pictures. Plot Sweet Shop owner Louie needs to raise $300. The Boys try to sell their jalopy to raise the money, but are unable to because the car falls apart when they try to show it to a prospective buyer. They decide to go to the bank and take a loan out on it, but just as they arrive the bank is robbed. The robbers bump into them and drop the bag full of the stolen money. As Sach picks up the bag to return it to the robber, Cathy, a photographer, takes his photo.
