Edward Ma, known professionally as edIT, is an American electronic music producer and DJ based in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Glitch Mob. History After growing up in Boston, Edward Ma began his career as a DJ and got into music production while he was studying at the University of Southern California. From there, he built his name in the Los Angeles underground and began his career in the late 1990s as The Con Artist. He was a resident DJ at Konkrete Jungle in Los Angeles and he hosted a Dublab radio show. He has produced tracks for underground hip hop artists such as Sole and Busdriver. He has also worked with P.E.A.C.E. and Myka 9 of Freestyle Fellowship, Daddy Kev, Hive, Dntel, Emanon and Phoenix Orion. He is an old friend of Aloe Blacc and Daedelus and has contributed a remix of "Dumbfound" to Daedelus' single "Something Bells" in 2004. James Timothy "Tim" Holland Jr. (born September 25, 1977), better known by his stage name Sole, is an American underground hip hop artist from Portland, Maine. He is one of eight co-founders of the record label Anticon. He has been a member of the groups Northern Exposure, Live Poets, Deep Puddle Dynamics, So-Called Artists, Da Babylonianz, Sole and the Skyrider Band and Waco Boyz. Career Sole recorded his first demo in 1992. At age 15, he assembled 45 Below Records, which included rappers Alias, JD Walker, and producer DJ Moodswing9 (then known as Cuz the Highlander). Sole and Moodswing9 released the album ''Mad Skillz and Unpaid Billz'' together as Northern Exposure, selling more than 300 copies. Corey Scoffern (born May 20, 1975), better known by his stage name the Grouch, is an American rapper and producer. He is currently based in Los Angeles and Maui, Hawaii, but was born and raised in Oakland, California. He is a founding member of Living Legends, an independent rap group currently based in Los Angeles, California. Aaron Pointer, better known by his stage name Abstract Rude, is an American rapper from Los Angeles, California. He is the rapper of Abstract Tribe Unique, alongside dancers Zulu Butterfly and Irie Lion King, turntablist DJ Drez and producer Fat Jack. ''Crying Over Pros for No Reason'' is the debut studio album by American electronic music producer Edward Ma under the alias of edIT. It was released on April 12, 2004, through Planet Mu. Background Ma had been a producer for acts such as Sole and Busdriver under the alias Conartist. He was influenced by his roommate at the time, who had bought and played records from electronic artists such as Squarepusher, Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin, and who had introduced him to Planet Mu through other records that he had bought. Demos of the album were sent to various labels, including to Planet Mu, which Ma chose to release it with. Ma made the album in the digital audio workstation Pro Tools, with all of its production done by hand without access to VST plugins. Alfred Darlington (born Alfred Weisberg-Roberts; October 31, 1977), better known by their stage name Daedelus, is an American record producer based in Los Angeles, California. They are a member of the groups The Long Lost and Adventure Time. Daedelus is also affiliated with the internet radio station Dublab. Freestyle Fellowship is an American hip hop group from Los Angeles, California. It consists of Aceyalone, Myka 9, P.E.A.C.E., and Self Jupiter. The group was a prominent part of the Good Life Cafe collective, and are part of the Project Blowed collective.
