Edinburgh Northern Sevens
Edinburgh Northern Sevens is an annual rugby sevens tournament held by Edinburgh Northern, in the Inverleith district of Edinburgh, Scotland. History The first rugby sevens tournament took place in 1955 and it has been played in all subsequent years, with the exception of the coronavirus pandemic years in 2019 and 2020. The 2023 tournament, won by Currie, had 21 sides taking part. Northern Cup The winners receive the Northern Cup. There is also a Bowl and Plate competition. Livingston Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland. The men's side currently compete in , the women's side currently compete in . History Established in 1968, as Livingston and District RFC, the team was founded through a local appeal for players by Jack Nixon, a native of Langholm, who in the 1960s was the Youth Officer of the West Lothian County Council. Among his responsibilities was to assistance in setting up clubs and organisations for the newcomers to Livingston. At the meeting, players from Bathgate RFC decided that amalgamating with the new Livingston side would allow them better opportunities for success and also give them a better chance of gaining a home ground, they had played previous games in Airdrie. Moray House RFC is a rugby union club based in Edinburgh, Scotland. History This is the rugby union club attached to the Moray House School of Education and Sport within the University of Edinburgh. It was founded from at least 1925, the club playing Kirkcaldy 2nd XV on 13 March 1926 in the Fife side's 1925 fixture list. George Russell was a stalwart of the rugby side (and ultimately became its president for many years); and he later went on to represent Edinburgh District, and join the Scottish Rugby Union committee. History Portobello was founded as a former pupils club of Portobello High School, once one of the largest schools in Europe. Penicuik Rugby Club is a rugby football club in the Scottish Rugby Union, playing their home games at Public Park, Penicuik, Midlothian. Season 2015–16 saw the club become league champions of East Regional League Division Two, under the coaching duo of Mark Blair and Malcolm Clapperton.
