Edinburgh Capitals (SNL)
The Edinburgh Capitals (SNL) were an ice hockey team based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed in 1998, they were the 'B' team for the Elite Ice Hockey League, Elite League Edinburgh Capitals, Capitals with whom they shared their name. The Edinburgh Capitals (SNL) played in the Scottish National League (ice hockey), Scottish National League which is considered a third tier league in the United Kingdom equivalent to the equivalent to the National Ice Hockey League, NIHL. Certain players also ice for or have iced for their Elite League counterparts. The Captain for the 2017–18 season was Joel Gautschi. His assistants were the two veterans, Ross Hay and Gary Hughes. The team folded in 2018 when the Elite League Capitals did. Scottish National League (ice Hockey)
The Scottish National League is an ice hockey league based in Scotland comprising 8 teams. The league sits below the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in the UK ice hockey structure alongside England's National Ice Hockey League (NIHL). Following the demise of the British National League at the end of the 2004–05 season, the Fife Flyers and Dundee Stars transferred to the SNL, raising both the league's profile. Murrayfield Ice Rink is a 3,800-seat multi-purpose arena in the Murrayfield area of Edinburgh, Scotland, adjacent to Murrayfield Stadium. Scott Neil
Andrew Scott Neil, known as Scott Neil, (born 1 August 1962 in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom) is a retired British ice hockey player who played in the United Kingdom between 1985 and 2002. He also played for the Great Britain national team between 1989 and 1994. He was inducted into the British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007. Neil is currently the owner of the Edinburgh Capitals in the British Elite Ice Hockey League. Playing career Club After playing junior ice hockey in Edinburgh, Neil went to university in Canada. When he returned to the United Kingdom he rejoined the Edinburgh setup as a senior player with the Murrayfield Racers in 1985 playing in the Premier Division of the British Hockey League. In his seven seasons with the Racers, he helped the team to win the league championship in 1986–87 and 1987–88; the Norwich Union Trophy in 1985; and reaching the playoff finals weekend at Wembley Arena every year bar one and winning the playoffs in 1986. ...

The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), sometimes referred to as the British Elite League or, for sponsorship reasons, the Viaplay Elite League, is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. Formed in 2003 following the demise of the Ice Hockey Superleague, it is the highest level of ice hockey competition in the United Kingdom. National Ice Hockey League
The National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) is a set of professional ice hockey leagues administered by the English Ice Hockey Association. It is currently the second tier of British ice hockey, below the Elite Ice Hockey League. Formerly called the English National Ice Hockey League (ENIHL), it was renamed in 2012 to recognise the inclusion of several teams from Scotland and Wales.
