''Edhonveli Thundi'' is a 2007 Maldivian two-part horror short-film written and directed by Yoosuf Shafeeu. Co-produced by Shafeeu and Hassan Adam under Eupe Production, the film stars Shafeeu, Ali Riyaz and Fathimath Fareela in pivotal roles. Premise Part one Ali (Ali Riyaz), a naturalist and the helpless younger brother of a blind man, Yoosuf Shafeeu spends most of his time at the beach, enjoying the nature. One day, he finds a beautiful shell near the seashore and equates himself with the shell for its "dead nature". He further confesses that if the shell has any element alive in it, he is desperate to marry the shell even, unbeknownst to him that a spirit is residing in the shell. The following day he wakes up to a female sobbing sound which was echoed again through the same shell, that evening. Followed by the curiosity, he brings the shell to his home. Yoosuf Shafeeu
Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, writer, and director. One of the most successful filmmakers and actors in Maldivian Cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient of a number of awards, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; ; holding the record of collecting maximum Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. In 2003, the Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. Fathimath Fareela
Fathimath Fareela (24 October 1984) is a Maldivian film actress. Career Fareela made her film debut in Ahmed Nimal's romantic film ''Vaaloabi Engeynama'' (2006), starred alongside Yoosuf Shafeeu, Mariyam Afeefa and Fauziyya Hassan which was a critical and commercial success, considered to be the most successful Maldivian release of the year. The film follows a conflicted husband struggling to convey equal affection towards his two spouses. Her performance as the grumbling wife received critical appreciation, winning her a Gaumee Film Award as the Best Supporting Actress. In 2009, Fareela starred as the valiant and fearless girl who unintentionally falls in love with her sister's love interest in '' Loaiybahtakaa'' which was written and directed by Yoosuf Shafeeu. Mariyam Shahuza is a Maldivian former film actress. Career In 2002, Shahuza appeared in a small role as a doctor in Amjad Ibrahim-directed film '' Kahvalhah Dhaandhen'' (2002). Having disappeared from the screen for almost four years, she made a comeback as a gossip loving friend in the horror film '' Hukuru Vileyrey'' (2006), co-directed by Aishath Rishmy and Aminath Rasheedha which was based on a novel published by Ibrahim Waheed on ''Haveeru Daily'' in 2003. Mohamed Abdul Ghanee
Mohamed Abdul Ghanee (born 15 April 1978), commonly known as Theyravaa is a Maldivian singer and songwriter. Early life and career Born to a musical family, Ghanee had no interest in music even when his siblings spend their time in jamming and singing. While studying at Madhrasathul Ifthithaah, he participated in the Inter-house singing competition, on a request by his elder brother. His performance was well noted by judges and received several prizes. The success was followed by his next performance, the song "Theyravaa" which caught the attention of a member from the local music band Zero Degree Atoll, who insisted him to perform a different version of the song in the ''Fannaanunge Muzikee Eid Show'' (1992).
