Edgaras Tumasonis (born 8 May 1968 in Alytus) is a retired Lithuanian football defender, who last played for FK Sirijus Klaipėda during his professional career. He obtained a total number of six caps for the Lithuania national football team, scoring no goals. Alytus
Alytus is a city with municipal rights in southern Lithuania. It is the capital of Alytus County. Its population in 2022 was 53,925. Alytus is the historical centre of the Dzūkija region. The city lies on the banks of the Nemunas River. The major roads linking Vilnius, Kaunas, Lazdijai (border with Poland), and Hrodna in Belarus pass through Alytus. Divided onto two separate entities for centuries, it consists of two parts still frequently referred to as ''Alytus I'' and ''Alytus II'', the earlier being a smaller town and the latter forming the city centre with parks, microdistricts and industrial areas. The Baltic Cup ( et, Balti turniir, lv, Baltijas kauss, lt, Baltijos taurė) is an international football competition contested by the national teams of the Baltic states – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Finland has also participated in the event twice as a guest and so did Iceland once. Though originally held annually the competition has been biennial since 2008. The 2020 tournament was postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic, and took place in 2021. It is one of the oldest national teams football tournaments in Europe after the British Home Championship, and the oldest of the ones still organized. FK Sirijus Klaipėda was a Lithuanian football club, played in the Žalgiris Stadium in Klaipėda. The club won the Lithuanian Championship in 1990, and twice won the Lithuanian Football Cup: in 1988 and 1990. Founded in 1973 as Syrius Klaipėda the club was renamed in 1989 to FK Sirijus Klaipėda.
