Edgar Babou
Edgar Babou (born 4 June 1970) is an Ivorian rugby union player. He played as a prop and as a hooker. Babou has been playing in France in the most recent years. He played more recently at Union Bordeaux Bègles, for the Pro D2, from 2005/06 to 2006/07. Since then, he has been playing at the Fédérale 1, for Bobigny, in 2007/08, Genevilliers, from 2008/09 to 2009/10, Suresnes, in 2010/11, and Boulogne-Billancourt, since 2011/12. Babou plays internationally for Ivory Coast, being also their captain. He played in the 2011 Rugby World Cup qualifyings. He was one of the oldest players involved in the qualification, at the age of 38. He still plays for Ivory Coast for the 2015 Rugby World Cup qualifyings in 2012, aged 42 years old. Union Bordeaux Bègles
Union Bordeaux Bègles (; ) is a French professional rugby union team playing in the Top 14, the first level of the country's professional league system. They earned their Top 14 place by winning the promotion playoffs that followed the 2010–11 season in the second-level Pro D2. Upon promotion to the Top 14 in 2011, they were assured a place in the European Challenge Cup. They were founded in 2006 as a result of a merger between two Bordeaux clubs, Stade Bordelais and Club Athlétique Bordeaux-Bègles Gironde. They wear claret (in French: ''bordeaux'') and white. They are based in Bordeaux (Nouvelle-Aquitaine), and play at the Stade Chaban-Delmas. Pro D2
The Pro D2 is the second tier of rugby union club competition division in France. It is operated by Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) which also runs the division directly above, the first division Top 14. Rugby Pro D2 was introduced in 2000. It is the world's best supported second tier rugby union league. Season structure There are 30 rounds in the regular season, with each team playing each other home and away. There is relegation and promotion between both the Top 14 and Nationale, the third-level competition. The top two clubs at the end of the season qualify automatically for home semi-finals, with the clubs placed 3rd through to 6th playing in an elimination round to advance to the semi-finals. The Ivory Coast national rugby union team, nicknamed ''Les Éléphants'', participates in the annual Africa Cup and are considered a third tier rugby team. The 2011 Rugby World Cup, was the seventh Rugby World Cup, a quadrennial international rugby union competition inaugurated in 1987. The IRB 2015 Rugby World Cup was the eighth Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial rugby union world championship. The tournament was hosted by England from 18 September to 31 October. African Leopards
The African Leopards are an African rugby union representative team, organised by the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR). The side will play an important role in promoting rugby in Africa. The Leopards are the first ever Pan-African representative rugby union team. History The concept came about in 2005, and the team played their first ever match against the South African Students on July 23 at Ellis Park as a curtain raiser to the second Mandela Challenge Plate match between the Springboks and Australia. The team for the inaugural match was represented by Botswana, Cameroon, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zambia.
