Eden Charles
Eden Charles (born 29 October 1993) is a Saint Lucian international footballer who plays as a striker for Monchy United. Club career Charles has played for Northern United All Stars of the Saint Lucia Gold Division since 2009. In 2012, he, along with fellow-Saint Lucian Jamil Joseph, trialed at Carlisle United FC of League One as part of an agreement between the Saint Lucia Football Association and the club. In December 2013, it was announced that Charles would participate in the 2014 Caribbean Combine, with hopes of participating in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. Charles then played in the TT Pro League in Trinidad & Tobago for W Connection. Gros Islet
Gros Islet (English: ''Large Island'') is a community near the northern tip of the island country of Saint Lucia, in the Gros Islet Quarter. Originally a quiet fishing village, it has become one of the more popular tourist destinations in the country. History Originally settled by the Carib (and possibly Arawak), the area was first identified as Gros Islet in a French map from 1717. The community was a Roman Catholic parish, and the first priests who arrived on the island settled in the village in 1749. In 1778, the Anglo-French War broke out between France and Great Britain. As part of the conflict, the British Royal Navy captured the island of Saint Lucia and built a naval base at Gros Islet Bay in 1782, temporarily changing the name to Fort Rodney. 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualification
The 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification was a series of tournaments organised by the six FIFA confederations. The 2014 FIFA World Cup featured 32 teams, with one place reserved for the host nation, Brazil. The remaining 31 places were determined by a qualification process, in which the other 207 teams, from the six FIFA confederations, competed. Most of the successful teams were determined within these confederations, with a limited number of inter-confederation play-offs occurring at the end of the process. Bhutan, Brunei, Guam and Mauritania did not enter, and South Sudan joined FIFA after the qualification process started and therefore could not take part. The qualification process consisted of 820 matches, reduced from 828 after the late withdrawals of the Bahamas and Mauritius. 2013 Windward Islands Tournament
The 2013 Windward Islands Tournament was an international football tournament between the Windward Islands nations, with the exception of Dominica, which was hosted by St. Vincent between 21 April and 25 April 2013. Matches took place at Victoria Park in Kingstown. The tournament was organised by the Windward Islands Football Association (WIFA) and received financial assistance from CONCACAF. It was the first time that the tournament has been held since 2001. After the three nations were eliminated from 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification and the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, none of them were scheduled for any international matches.
