Abraham Edel
Abraham Edel (6 December 1908 – 22 June 2007) was a North American philosopher and ethics, ethicist. He was the younger brother of the North American literary critic and biographer Leon Edel, and the uncle of the composer Joel Mandelbaum. He was married three times; his first two wives were fellow academics and co-authors, the anthropologist May Mandelbaum Edel, the philosopher Elizabeth Flower, and Sima Szaluta respectively. He had two children Deborah Edel, a founder of the Lesbian Herstory Archives, and Matthew David Edel, Matthew Edel, an Economist. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he grew up in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Edel attended McGill University, Oxford University and Columbia University. He taught at City College of New York for more than 40 years, and then held a research appointment at the University of Pennsylvania until his death. He was the recipient of numerous academic honors. Edel Therese Høiseth
Edel Therese Høiseth (born 27 January 1966) is a former speed skater from Norway, who specialised in the shorter distances; the 500 m and 1,000 m. Høiseth skated in all Winter Olympics from 1984 to 1998, making her one of only three Norwegians to have participated in as many as five Winter Olympics (the other two being Oddvar BrÃ¥ and Petter Thoresen). Her best Olympic result is an eighth place on the 500 m at the 1994 Winter Olympics. One of her best seasons was 1996, when she won the silver medal at the World Sprint Championships behind Chris Witty. Throughout her unusually long career at international top level, she also won more than 40 Norwegian Championships in Allround, Sprint, and Single Distance (500 m, 1,000 m, and 1,500 m). Nonograms, also known as Hanjie, Paint by Numbers, Griddlers, Pic-a-Pix, and Picross, are picture logic puzzles in which cells in a grid must be colored or left blank according to numbers at the edges of the grid to reveal a hidden picture. Edel Paragliders was a South Korean aircraft manufacturer based in Gwangju and headed by Sung Heon Song. Mega Records was a Danish record label established in 1983. It was renamed Edel-Mega Records when it was acquired by Edel Music in 2001. The catalogue of Mega Records is now managed by Playground Music Scandinavia, which was spun off from Edel in 2010.
