Eddy Hall
Edward Stephen Hall (born 15 January 1988) is an English media personality, retired strongman, and current mixed martial artist. He is best known for his then world-record setting deadlift. He is also known for winning 2017 World's Strongest Man competition. Hall has also won national competitions such as England's Strongest Man, Britain's Strongest Man, and UK's Strongest Man multiple times. In 2022, he was defeated by fellow World's Strongest Man Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson in a boxing match that was taglined "The Heaviest Boxing Match in History". In April of 2025, he defeated 5 times World's Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski, in his mixed martial arts debut. He has presented his own television series called ''Eddie Eats America'' (2018) and was featured in the History Channel series '' The Strongest Man in History'' (2019). Newcastle-under-Lyme
Newcastle-under-Lyme is a market town and the administrative centre of the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire, England. It is adjacent to the city of Stoke-on-Trent. At the 2021 United Kingdom census, 2021 census, the population was 75,082. Newcastle grew up in the twelfth century around the castle which gave the town its name, and received its first charter in 1173. UK's Strongest Man
The United Kingdom Strength Council was founded by Glenn Ross, the famed strongman and also founder and promoter of the Irish Strength Association. The UKSC, as it is commonly termed, was promoted by Bob Daglish's Elite Strongman Promotions until March 2010. Beginnings Part of the reason for the foundation was that Glenn Ross is a champion of the idea that strongman is about lifting and moving heavy objects. He has been quoted as saying that strongmen should be more akin to strongman of old, "fighting for every step, not running." Ross's philosophy is represented in the contests the UKSC organise. There is little running with weights or like events, but rather lifting heavier weights as the main test and then struggling forward with them. Clayton Hall Academy
Clayton Hall Academy is a mixed secondary school located in the Clayton area of Newcastle-under-Lyme in the English county of Staffordshire. History The present Clayton Hall, which is used as part of the college, is at least the third Hall on or near the current site. There was a Hall on Clayton Road where Barn Court is currently situated. This belonged to the Lovatt Family, local landowners at the time. The second Hall was opposite the Nuffield Hospital, it eventually belonged to Mary Lovatt Booth, the sole survivor of the Lovatt and Booth families. She was a local heiress and married John Ayshford Wise in 1837. The Hall and the family are featured in John Ward's book, ''Stoke-upon-Trent of 1842.''
