Eddy C. Waller
Edward Waller (June 14, 1889 – August 20, 1977) was an American stage, film and television actor. Early years Waller's involvement with dramatics began when he was a student at the University of Wisconsin. Career Stage Waller performed in vaudeville and the legitimate theater before he entered films in Hollywood. His professional stage debut came in Chicago, Illinois. An item published in ''The Indianapolis News'' May 3, 1923, reported, "He has had several years' experience as leading man and also as director, and produces the Grand Players' plays as well as taking the leading roles." Waller became noted for his character impersonations of elderly men on stage and screen. Film Waller appeared in more than 250 sound films between 1929 and 1963 (Thomas M. Feramisco, in his book, ''The Mummy Unwrapped: Scenes Left on Universal's Cutting Room'', has Waller "making the move to celluloid in 1936."), including 116 westerns and six serials. ''The Missing Corpse'' is a 1945 American comedy mystery film directed by Albert Herman. Plot summary The publisher of The Tribune newspaper, Henry Kruger, who is used to ordering his staff around, finds that he is ignored by everyone in his own home. He is shocked when he discovers a scandalous picture of his own daughter, Phyllis, on the front page of the competing paper, The Daily Argus. Henry pays a visit to the dubious publisher of the competing paper, Andy McDonald, and warns him not to ever publish a picture like that again, or Henry will kill him. Henry is unaware of the fact that a man named "Slippery" Joe Clary has overheard his conversation with Andy, which Joe later reveals to him, threatening to expose him. Henry counters by claiming that Andy was the one who got Joe sentenced with his testimony, and that Andy dated Joe's girlfriend while he was in prison. Douglas Richards Kennedy (September 14, 1915 – August 10, 1973) was an American actor who appeared in more than 190 films from 1935 to 1973. Early years Kennedy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dion W. Kennedy. He served in the U. S. Army from 1940 to 1945. Career Kennedy was a character player and occasional leading man in Hollywood. Making his debut in 1935, he played a significant number of supporting roles and was able to secure contract-player status, first at Paramount Pictures and later at Warner Brothers. His acting career was interrupted by World War II service as a major in the Signal Corps with the Office of Strategic Services and Army Intelligence. After the military, he returned to films and played character roles, often western villains or territorial marshals, as well as isolated leads in low-budget pictures.
