Eddie Kinsella
Eddie Kinsella is a former Gaelic football referee from County Laois. He is a member of the Courtwood club. Kinsella refereed the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final between Donegal and Kerry at Croke Park. Before this he had refereed one Leinster SFC final, one Munster SFC final, the 2011 All-Ireland Under 21 final and the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship The All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament which began in season 1970–71. Gaelic football (; short name '')'', commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA, or football, is an Irish team sport. A form of football, it is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or palming the ball into the other team's Goal (sport), goal (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goal and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the ball up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). County Laois
County Laois ( ; ) is a county in Ireland. It is part of the Eastern and Midland Region and in the province of Leinster. It was known as Queen's County from 1556 to 1922. The modern county takes its name from Loígis, a medieval kingdom. Historically, it has also been known as County Leix. Courtwood GAA
Courtwood GAA () is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football club, located in the north east corner of County Laois in Ireland. The club is located in the eastern half of Emo parish with a small catchment area south of the village of Ballybrittas and mainly covered by the local school Rath NS. The locality is bordered on one side by County Kildare and by three neighbouring clubs in Laois: Annanough, O'Dempsey's and Emo. At adult level, the club is a football club only, although a period in the 2000s saw Courtwood dabble in the small ball game. Courtwood currently field football teams at Senior and junior C. The All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament which began in season 1970–71. It is the top-tier competition for the senior football clubs of Ireland and London. The current champions are Cuala of Dublin who defeated Errigal Ciarán of Tyrone on 19 January 2025 to win their first All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship.
