Eddie Freeman
Eddie V. Freeman (born January 4, 1978) is an American former professional football defensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). Professional career Freeman was drafted out of UAB in the second round of the 2002 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs and played for them for two years. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals on September 8, 2004, and then the Jacksonville Jaguars on December 1, 2004. He signed with the Carolina Panthers on January 27, 2005, and then returned to the Chiefs on January 11, 2006, but moved on again to the New England Patriots as a free agent on July 31, 2006. Freeman signed as a free agent with the Calgary Stampeders on November 1, 2007, in time for the final game of the 2007 regular season. In the 2008 CFL season, Freeman played in all 18 regular season games and recorded 25 tackles and 3 quarterback sacks. The Canadian Football League (CFL; french: Ligue canadienne de football—LCF) is a professional sports league in Canada. The CFL is the highest level of competition in Canadian football. The Montreal Alouettes (Canadian French, French: Les Alouettes de Montréal) are a professional Canadian football team based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1946, the team has folded and been revived twice. The Alouettes compete in the Canadian Football League East Division, East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and last won the Grey Cup championship in 98th Grey Cup, 2010. Their home field is Percival Molson Memorial Stadium for the regular season and as of 2014 also home of their playoff games. In gridiron football, a sack occurs when the quarterback (or another offensive player acting as a passer) is tackled behind the line of scrimmage before throwing a forward pass, when the quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage in the " pocket" and without clear intent, or when a passer runs out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage due to defensive pressure. 2008 CFL Season
The 2008 CFL season was the 55th season of modern-day Canadian football, the 51st season for the Canadian Football League. It was also the first CFL season in which all of the league's regular season and post-season games, including the Grey Cup game, were aired on TSN. This meant the CFL was no longer aired on broadcast television in Canada. As of 2008, TSN was available in approximately 8.8 million of Canada's 13 million households.
