Eddie Czaplicki
Eddie Czaplicki is an American professional football punter for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Arizona State Sun Devils and the USC Trojans. He won the 2024 Ray Guy Award as the best college football punter nationally. Early life Czaplicki is from Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended Providence High School in Charlotte, where he initially played both football and soccer before deciding to focus solely on football. A punter and placekicker, he averaged 46 yards per punt in 2019, which placed 13th nationally, and also made a 51-yard field goal that year, which was the second best in the nation. He was ranked a three-star recruit and the 11th-best kicker prospect nationally by 247Sports. Kickoff Specialist
A kickoff specialist is a special teams position in gridiron football. They are responsible for kicking the ball in the kickoff. These players tend to have a strong leg, often capable of making touchbacks, and capable of keeping a ball in the bounds of the field of play but do not have the accuracy or technique required to be a full-time placekicker or punter. For most teams, the placekicker is the kickoff specialist. Dedicated kickoff specialists that handle only kickoff duties are now seldomly-used. Some kickoff specialists later become full-time placekickers, while some are marginal placekickers who are soon out of football.
