Ed Palmquist
Edwin Lee Palmquist (June 10, 1933 – July 10, 2010) was a middle relief pitcher who played from 1960 through 1961 in Major League Baseball. Listed at , , Palmquist batted and threw right-handed. A native of Los Angeles, he attended Susan Miller Dorsey High School. He signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers as a free agent in 1951. Palmquist entered the majors in 1960 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, playing for them in 1960-1961 before joining the Minnesota Twins (1961). He posted a 1–3 record with a 5.11 earned run average in 36 pitching appearances, including two starts, allowing 47 runs (39 earned) on 77 hits while walking 36 batters and striking out 41 in 68 innings of work. In 1963, Palmquist pitched in Japan for the Daimai Orions. Base On Balls
A base on balls (BB), better known as a walk, occurs in baseball when a batter receives four pitches during a plate appearance that the umpire calls '' balls'', and is in turn awarded first base without the possibility of being called out. The base on balls is defined in Section 2.00 of baseball's Official Rules, and further detail is given in 6.08(a). Despite being known as a "walk", it is considered a faux pas for a professional player to actually walk to first base; the batter-runner and any advancing runners normally jog on such a play. Grants Pass is a city in and the county seat of Josephine County, Oregon, United States. The city is located on Interstate 5, northwest of Medford, along the Rogue River. Vancouver Mounties
The Vancouver Mounties were a high-level minor league baseball club based in Vancouver, British Columbia, that played in the Pacific Coast League (PCL) from 1956– 62 and – 69. Its home field was Capilano Stadium. During the Mounties' first two seasons, 1956–57, the PCL still was a member of an experimental organized baseball ranking, the Open Classification, as it made a bid for Major League status. However, in 1958 the PCL reverted to Triple-A when the Dodgers and Giants moved to California. The Spokane Indians are a Minor League Baseball team located in Spokane Valley, the city immediately east of Spokane, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest. Great Falls Electrics
The Great Falls Electrics were a minor league baseball team that operated out of Great Falls, Montana. The team was formed in 1911 as part of the old Union Association league. They also played in the Northwestern League from 1916 to 1917. The team disbanded at that time and then was reformed as part of the Pioneer League in 1948. They became an affiliate of the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1952 and remained with the Dodgers through 1963. The Kokomo Dodgers were a Minor League Baseball team based in Kokomo, Indiana, between 1955 and 1961. After playing the 1955 season as the Kokomo Giants, a New York Giants affiliate, the 1956 "Dodgers" became charter members of the Midwest League, as the Mississippi–Ohio Valley League, as the changed Mississippi–Ohio Valley League names following the 1955 season. The Newport News Dodgers were a minor league baseball affiliate of the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1944 to 1955. They played in the Piedmont League and were based in Newport News, Virginia. The teams played at Peninsula War Memorial Stadium on Pembroke Avenue in Hampton, Virginia from 1948 to 1955. The stadium was built by Brooklyn Dodgers president Branch Rickey. The Santa Barbara Dodgers was the main nickname of minor league baseball teams in the Class A California League based in the Pacific Ocean coastal resort city of Santa Barbara, California.
