Edward Norman Jackson (June 28, 1885 – November 11, 1967) was an American photographer and photojournalist for the ''New York Daily News.'' Jackson was President Woodrow Wilson's European photographer during the close of World War I and photographed ''The Big Four'' world leaders at the Paris Peace Conference, 1919, Paris Peace Conference. Early life The youngest of four siblings of an Irish immigrant family, Jackson was born in Philadelphia on June 28, 1885. His impoverished family would often go to the local soup kitchen, soup house to obtain a ticket for a loaf of bread and another ticket for a can of bean soup, his personal journal states. Jackson sold newspapers (''Philadelphia Bulletin'') on street corners to help his family, where he met a studio photographer who offered him a job after school and Saturdays. Edward Jackson (American Football)
Edward L. Jackson ( – January 19, 1984) was an American college football and college basketball coach and administrator for several historically black colleges and universities in the Eastern United States. He served as the head football coach at Delaware State University, Johnson C. Smith University and Howard University, altering his tenures among the three schools over the course of 23 years. Jackson also coached basketball at Johnson C. Smith and Delaware State. Jackson was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he attended Springfield Central High School. He then studied at Bay Path Institute—now known as Bay Path University—and Howard University. In 1928, he transferred to Springfield College in his hometown. Jackson received Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Springfield. He earned a doctorate from the School of Physical Education at Pennsylvania State University in 1955. Edward Jackson (ophthalmologist)
Edward Jackson (March 30, 1856 - October 29, 1942) was an American ophthalmologist better known for popularizing retinoscopy in the United States. He also described detecting astigmatism and its correct axis using a cross-cylinder. The modified Stokes lens he made was later known as Jackson's cross-cylinder. Biography Edward Jackson was born March 30, 1856, in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania, the son of Holiday and Emily Jackson. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Union College, New York in 1874, and in 1878 received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Jackson married Jenny L. Price in 1878. After she died in 1896, he settled in Denver in 1898, where he married Emily Churchman. Jackson died of heart block on October 29, 1942, at the age of 86. Edward Jackson (20 April 1799 – 14 July 1872) was a tinware manufacturer in Canada. Jackson was born in Redding, Connecticut. He came to Canada with his wife Lydia Ann Sanford in 1826 and settled at Niagara (Niagara-on-the-Lake), where he opened a tinware business. Two years later he moved to Ancaster, Upper Canada and opened up a similar firm. The Tin Factory offices were on King Street East near Catharine Street; a foundry was on Catharine near Robert Street. Jackson was also involved in other commercial enterprises. He was a shareholder and director of the ''Gore Bank'', director of the ''Hamilton and Lake Erie Railway'', a stockholder in the ''London and Gore Railway'' and a provisional director of the Bank of Hamilton. He gave freely to societies established to assist the freed slaves following the American Civil War. His wife was also involved in charitable work. Edward John Wycliffe Jackson (born 26 March 1955) is an English former cricketer. Jackson was born at Kuala Lumpur in British Malaya (his mother was Joan Hunter Dunn), and was educated in England at Winchester College, before going up to Pembroke College, Cambridge. While studying at Cambridge, he made his debut in first-class cricket for Cambridge University against Leicestershire at Fenner's in 1974. He played first-class cricket for Cambridge until 1976, making 27 appearances. Playing as an all-rounder, he scored 694 runs in his 27 appearances for Cambridge, at an average of 16.13 and a high score of 63. With his left-arm medium-fast bowling, Jackson took 42 wickets at a bowling average of 50.73. Edward "Ted" Jackson (16 March 1925 – 5 February 1996) was an Australian rules football player in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Edwards was one of few league players of Indigenous Australian heritage in the 1940s. Edward St John Jackson
Sir Edward St John Jackson, (14 October 1886 – 29 August 1961) was a British colonial judge and administrator. The son of Sir Henry Moore Jackson, and his wife, Emily ( Shea), Edward St John Jackson was raised in his mother's Roman Catholic faith. He was educated at Stonyhurst College and Beaumont College (both Jesuit schools) and at Brasenose College, Oxford, where he read Law, graduating in 1908. He was called to the bar by the Inner Temple in 1910. In 1912, he was appointed legal adviser to the Government of Gambia. In 1918, he was appointed Attorney General of the Nyasaland Protectorate, before being appointed to the High Court of the Nyasaland Protectorate in 1920. He was subsequently Attorney General of Tanganyika Territory between 1924 and 1929. He was the 23rd Attorney General of Ceylon.
