Ecurie Belge
Octave John Claes (; 11 August 1916 – 3 February 1956) was a British-born racing driver who competed for Belgium. Before his fame as a racing driver, Claes was also a jazz trumpeter and successful bandleader in Britain. Early life and jazz career Claes was born in London to a Scottish mother and Belgian father. He was educated in England at Lord Williams's School. In England, he began playing trumpet in a jazz band that included Max Jones on reeds, and another with Billy Mason on piano. In the 1930s he moved to the Netherlands, where he worked with Valaida Snow and Coleman Hawkins. He also worked with Jack Kluger's band in Belgium. Returning to England, he led his own group, the Claepigeons, making a recording in 1942. In the late 1940s he abandoned his jazz career and settled in Belgium as a professional racing driver. Ecurie Bonnier, Ecurie Suisse, Joakim Bonnier Racing Team and Anglo-Suisse Racing Team were names used by Swedes, Swedish racing driver Joakim Bonnier to enter his own cars in Formula One, Formula Two and sports car racing between 1957 and his death in 1972. Commonly the vehicles were entered for Bonnier himself, but he also provided cars for a number of other drivers during the period. Formula One Jo Bonnier began entering cars in Formula One under his own name in 1957, first with a Maserati in motorsport, Maserati Maserati 250F, 250F, without much success, recording only two non-points scoring finishes from his six World Championship entries in 1957 and 1958. Rudolf "Rudi" Fischer (19 April 1912 – 30 December 1976) was a Swiss racing driver, who competed in Formula One at seven Grands Prix from to . Fischer debuted in Formula One at the in . He achieved two podium finishes, and scored a total of 10 championship points. He also participated in numerous non-championship Formula One and Formula Two races. Career Fischer finished third in a race which marked the reopening of the AVUS, a German motor racing circuit. It had been closed for a 14-year period and was damaged during World War II. A crowd of 350,000 watched Paul Greifzu of Suhl, Thuringia, win in a car he built himself. Fischer drove a Ferrari to third place over a distance of 207.5 kilometres. Ecurie Lutetia was a French racing team founded by racing drivers Eugène Chaboud and Charles Pozzi. The team's name was derived from Lutetia, a town that stood where Paris is now located, and the fact that Pozzi was born in Paris. Ecurie Lutetia entered two Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, but scored no points. They also participated in non-championship Formula One, Formula Two and Le Mans races between 1948 and 1950. However, Chaboud and Pozzi entered races under their own names more often than under Ecurie Lutetia. Racing record In 1948 and 1949, Ecurie Lutetia entered 12 Grands Prix in France and Italy. Their drivers were Eugène Chaboud, Charles Pozzi, and Pierre Meyrat. Their best result were a 3rd and 4th place in the 1949 Salon Grand Prix.
