Ecologist Pole (, PE) is a French green political coalition launched in August 2020. This alliance followed the 2020 municipal elections, in which several large cities were won by lists led by green candidates. Yannick Jadot
Yannick Jadot (; born 27 July 1967) is a French environmental activist and politician who ran for President of France in 2022, placing sixth with 4.6% of the vote. A member of The Ecologists (LÉ), he was elected to represent Paris in the Senate in 2023. A member of the Greens from 1999, Jadot was a campaign director for Greenpeace France from 2002 to 2008. He headed his party's list for the West France constituency in the 2009 European Parliament election, in which he was elected to the European Parliament, where he held a seat until 2023. Following his party's primary, he was nominated as the Europe Ecology – The Greens (EELV) candidate in the 2017 French presidential election, before withdrawing and endorsing Socialist Party candidate Benoît Hamon. Sébastien Nadot (born 8 July 1972 in Fleurance (Gers)), is a French historian, writer and politician. In the 2017 elections, he was elected as a member of La République En Marche! to the French National Assembly, representing the department of Haute-Garonne's 10th constituency. In December 2018, he was excluded from LREM for having voted against the 2019 draft budget. In May 2020, he was one of the 17 initial members of the new Ecology Democracy Solidarity group in the National Assembly. Robert Hue
Robert Hue (; born 19 October 1946) is a French politician who was National Secretary of the French Communist Party (PCF) from 1994 to 2001 and President of the PCF from 2001 to 2002. He served as a Deputy in the National Assembly of France from 1997 to 2002, and he has served in the Senate of France between 2004 and 2017. Hue was a candidate in the 1995 presidential election, in which he received 8.7% of the vote, and in the 2002 presidential election, in which he won 3.37%. Corinne Dominique Marguerite Lepage (; born 11 May 1951) is a French environmental lawyer and politician. She served as French Minister of the Environment in the Alain Juppé cabinets 1 and II 1995–1997 and as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) 2009–2014 for the North-West constituency. She is the founder and President since 1996 of the Citizenship, Action, Participation for the 21st Century Party (CAP 21). She is also co-founder of the centrist Mouvement démocrate and served as Vice-President for the party until March 2010, when she announced that she was leaving the movement. Benoît Hamon (; born 26 June 1967) is a French politician known for his former role within the Socialist Party (PS) and Party of European Socialists (PES) and his political party Génération.s. Hamon joined the Socialist Party in 1988 and by 1993 became the leader of the Young Socialist Movement, serving until 1995. 2020 French Municipal Elections
The 2020 French municipal elections were held from 15 March to 28 June to renew the municipal councils of the approximately 35,000 French communes. The first round took place on 15 March and the second round was postponed to 28 June due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Electoral system Municipal elections in France result in the renewal of the members of municipal councils in every commune, and are held every 6 years. With the exception of Paris, Lyon, and Marseille, the electoral subdivision is the commune itself.
