Eclective (formerly Press Up Hospitality Group) is a cinema, hotel, pub, retail and restaurant operator based in Dublin, Ireland. Ownership is shared between Paddy McKillen, Jr., son of Paddy McKillen, and Matt Ryan. Their properties include the Clarence Hotel, the Dean Hotel, the Dean Hotel Cork, the Devlin Hotel, the Mayson Hoteland the Stella Theatre cinema chain. They also operate two formerly franchised Tower Records locations, which have outlasted the US-based parent chain by many years. Until 2024 they also held the Irish franchise for Wagamama A number of their new properties are located in new developments by Oakmount, a property developer with the same owners but operated independently. Tower Records is an international retail franchising, franchise and online music store that was formerly based in Sacramento, California, United States. From 1960 until 2006, Tower operated retail stores in the United States, which closed when Tower Records filed for bankruptcy and liquidation. Paddy McKillen
Patrick McKillen (born 1955) is an international hotelier, property investor and businessman. Biography McKillen was born in Andersonstown, West Belfast. His father owned a garage in the same suburb. At the age of 16, he joined and built up the company, which became one of the first garage chains in Northern Ireland, sold in the 1990s for €25 million ($31 million). During the 1980s, McKillen built up a portfolio of assets including commercial buildings, retail stores and shopping centres in Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Limerick. He was the main shareholder of the Jervis Shopping Centre (which was a hospital that he turned into a shopping mall), and a key investor in Clarendon Properties. Clarence Hotel
The Clarence Hotel is a four-star 51-room hotel located at 6–8 Wellington Quay, Dublin, Ireland. It is in the Temple Bar neighbourhood, on the River Liffey. It first opened in 1852, and bought by U2 lead singer Bono and lead guitarist The Edge and their business partners in 1992, and opened after refurbishment in 1996. The hotel was constructed on land that was originally reclaimed for the building of the Old Custom House around 1704. Methodist Central Hall, Birmingham
The Methodist Central Hall, 196–224 Corporation Street, Birmingham, Corporation Street, Birmingham, England, is a three-storey Architectural terracotta, red brick and terracotta Grade II* listed building with a distinctive tower at the northern end of Corporation Street. The design complements the Victoria Law Courts opposite, also in terracotta, and includes eclectic details such as the corner turrets resembling Indian chattris. It is located within the Steelhouse Conservation Area. The terracotta was manufactured by the renowned firm of Gibbs and Canning of Tamworth, which also produced decorative works for 179-203 Corporation Street and the interior of the Victoria Law Courts in Birmingham and the Natural History Museum in London.
