Ebro trucks was a Spanish brand of light and medium trucks and buses, as well as all-wheel-drive utility vehicles with plants located in Barcelona, Madrid, Ávila, and Cordoba. The Ebro (Spanish and Basque ; , , ) is a river of the north and northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, in Spain. It rises in Cantabria and flows , almost entirely in an east-southeast direction. Nissan Cabstar (kana:日産・キャブスター Kyabusutā) is the name used in Japan for two lines of pickup trucks and light commercial vehicles sold by Nissan and built by UD Nissan Diesel, a Volvo, Volvo AB (now Isuzu) company and by Renault-Nissan Alliance for the European market. The name originated with the 1968 Datsun Cabstar, but this was gradually changed over to "Nissan" badging in the early 1980s. The lighter range (1-1.5 tons) replaced the earlier Cabstar and Prince Homer, Homer, while the heavier Nissan Caball, Caball and Nissan Clipper, Clipper were replaced by the 2-4 ton range Nissan Atlas, Atlas (kana:日産・アトラス). Nissan Trade
The Nissan Trade is the most common name for a family of light commercial vehicles that was produced by Ebro Motor Ibérica from 1976 to 1986 and by Nissan Motor Ibérica from 1986 to 2001 in Spain. This truck was marketed only in Europe. It was a replacement for the Ebro F108, itself a rebadged Alfa Romeo Romeo van which was marketed exclusively in Spain. It was designed by AISA, owners of Avia, and originally marketed under both the Ebro and Avia brands. Avia was taken over by Ebro in 1977 and Nissan took a share of that company in 1979. Nissan took a majority stake in Ebro in 1982, and began phasing out the Avia brand. In 1985 the Ebro F-series went on sale in the UK, as the "Nissan Ebro Trade" (but only with Ebro badging). A light commercial vehicle (LCV) in the European Union, Australia and New Zealand is a commercial carrier vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of no more than 3.5 metric tons (tonnes). In the automotive industry, rebadging (also known as badge engineering, an intentionally ironic misnomer in that little or no actual engineering takes place) is a form of market segmentation used by automobile manufacturers around the world. To allow for product differentiation without designing or engineering a new model or brand (at high cost or risk), a manufacturer creates a distinct automobile by applying a new "badge" or trademark (brand, logo, or manufacturer's name/make/marque) to an existing product line.
