''Dungeons & Dragons'' (commonly abbreviated as ''D&D'' or ''DnD'') is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) originally created and designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. The game was first published in 1974 by TSR (company)#Tactical Studies Rules, Tactical Studies Rules (TSR). It has been published by Wizards of the Coast, later a subsidiary of Hasbro, since 1997. ''An Adventurer's Guide to Eberron'' is a supplement to the 3.5 edition of the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' role-playing game. Contents ''An Adventurer's Guide to Eberron'' is an accessory for the Eberron setting that is an illustrated 64-page visual guide to the world of Eberron. Kevin Kulp wrote that "the adventuring races are one of the first things shown. Shifters, changelings, elves, orcs, warforged, kalashtar, and all the other races are richly illustrated and spotlighted. The book ends with the monstrous races: drow, giants, dragons, and power groups such as the Emerald Claw and the Lords of Dust. There's an average of about three full-color illustrations per page, sometimes more, with notes to show sections of a ship or typical adventurer gear". In the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' fantasy role-playing game, a magic item is any object that is imbued with magic powers. These items may act on their own or be the tools of the character possessing them. Magic items have been prevalent in the game in every edition and setting, from the original edition in 1974 until the modern fifth edition. In addition to jewels and gold coins, they form part of the treasure that the players often seek in a dungeon. Magic items are generally found in treasure hoards, or recovered from fallen opponents; sometimes, a powerful or important magic item is the object of a quest. Artificer (Dungeons & Dragons)
The artificer is a playable character class in the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D'') fantasy role-playing game. While the artificer originally appeared as a subclass for spellcasters in older editions, the artificer first appeared as a full class in the 3.5 edition of ''D&D''. The standalone artificer was introduced in 2004 as part of Eberron, a new campaign setting for ''D&D''. It is a unique base class that reflects many of the core themes of Eberron. Mike Mearls
Michael Mearls is an American writer and designer of fantasy role-playing games (RPGs) and related fiction. Mearls worked for Wizards of the Coast from 2005 to 2023, holding various positions. He was the senior manager for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' research and design team and then later became the franchise's Creative Director. He co-led design for the 5th edition of the game. He also worked on the '' Castle Ravenloft'' board game, and various compendium books for 3rd, 4th, and 5th editions ''Dungeons & Dragons''. In 2024, he became the Executive Producer of role-playing games at Chaosium. Then in 2025, he became the head of Asmodee. Education Mearls is an alumnus of Dartmouth College. Free RPG Day is an annual promotional event by the tabletop role-playing game industry. The event rules are fairly simple: participating publishers provide special free copies of games to participating game stores; the game store agrees to provide one free game to any person who requests a free game on Free RPG Day.
