Ebbw Vale Parkway Railway Station
Ebbw Vale Parkway railway station () is a station on the Ebbw Valley Railway in Wales. The station opened on 6 February 2008 when services to and from Cardiff Central commenced after 46 years of being a freight-only line. A northwards extension of the line to a new terminus at Ebbw Vale Town opened on 17 May 2015, which accounts for the drop in usage in 2015–16. A direct service to Newport was expected to commence in 2018 following double-tracking and re-signalling works between Aberbeeg and Crosskeys, but this has now been pushed back to 2021. The station has been built on the site of the former Victoria station in the Victoria area of the Ebbw Vale conurbation. It consists of a single platform adjacent to Glan Ebbw Terrace, close to the A4046 Station Road. Ebbw Vale (; ) is a town at the head of the valley formed by the Ebbw Fawr tributary of the Ebbw River in Wales. It is the largest town and the administrative centre of Blaenau Gwent county borough. Rogerstone Railway Station
Rogerstone railway station () is a station on the Ebbw Valley Railway in the community of Rogerstone in Newport, south Wales. The station is situated ½ mile north of the original station on the site of former rail sidings. The station is within the ''Afon Village'' housing development. Access to the single-platform station and associated car park is off Lily Way. The station opened on 6 February 2008 when services between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Parkway commenced, with trains being operated by Arriva Trains Wales. On 17 May 2015, a new northern terminus was opened at Ebbw Vale Town railway station. In 2018, Transport for Wales took over running of the services. Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council () is the governing body for Blaenau Gwent, one of the Subdivisions of Wales, Principal Areas of Wales. Peter Law
Peter John Law (1 April 1948 – 25 April 2006) was a Welsh politician. For most of his career Law sat as a Labour councillor and subsequently Labour Co-operative Assembly member (AM) for Blaenau Gwent. Latterly he sat as an independent member of Parliament (MP) and AM for the same constituency. Law resigned from the Labour Party in 2005. In the 2005 general election, he defeated the Labour candidate by over 9,000 votes. ''The Daily Telegraph'' described his victory as "one of the most spectacular general election results of modern times". is a community hospital in Ebbw Vale, Wales. It is managed by the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. History The hospital was commissioned to replace the aging Ebbw Vale Hospital which had closed at the end of 2005. The Ebbw Vale Garden Festival of Wales ( National Garden Festival 1992) attracted over two million visitors to Ebbw Vale in South Wales. Background The national garden festivals were a high-profile 1980s initiative by the then Conservative government in response to criticism of their alleged neglect of areas hit by the decline of heavy industry. Environment Minister Michael Heseltine proposed that derelict land should be reclaimed for a Garden Festival as a symbol of the rebirth of such areas. The festivals were held every two years. Cwm (from , Translation ''The Valley'') is a former coal mining village, community (Wales), community and Wards and electoral divisions of the United Kingdom, electoral ward south of Ebbw Vale in the county borough of Blaenau Gwent, Wales, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire, United Kingdom. Waun-Lwyd or Waunlwyd is a village in the Ebbw Valley in Blaenau Gwent. It belongs in the community of Cwm. It is located south of Ebbw Vale and north of Newport. The A4046 runs through the village. The population of the community is 1,556. History The Gwent Heritage voluntary group have extensively documented the history of the village as far back as its initial mining establishment. The Cwm and Waunlwyd branch of the group meets regularly to contribute to the collection of material about the region. The River Ebbw flows past the west of the village. Ebbw Vale bus station (), also known as Inner Bypass, is a bus terminus located in the town centre of Ebbw Vale, South Wales. Background Ebbw Vale is a town at the head of the Ebbw Valley, from the south of the Brecon Beacons National Park. As such the town is the northern terminus of services through the valley towards Cardiff, Caerphilly, and Cwmbran, as well as having services to Tredegar and Abergavenny. The British Rail Class 150 '' Sprinter'' is a class of diesel-hydraulic multiple unit passenger trains, developed and built by British Rail Engineering Limited at York Carriage Works between 1984 and 1987 for use on regional services across Great Britain. Maesteg Railway Station
Maesteg railway station is one of two railway stations that serves the town of Maesteg in Wales. The British Rail 1992 built station is located in the centre of the town, adjacent to the Asda Supermarket store and on former sidings north of .
