The Eastern Samar State University is a state university in the Philippines with main campus located in Borongan, Eastern Samar. It has a satellite campus in Salcedo, Maydolong, Guiuan and Can-avid. History Founded On February 14, 1960 ( as the Eastern Samar National Regional Agricultural School – ESNRAS) througR.A. 2434 Some 120 Students held sessions in a rented building in Borongan. The school was later established in Malbog, far-flung barrio of Borongan, reach only by climbing steep mountains and by crossing creeks. In 1967, the school was resettled to its present location between the Barangays of Tabunan and Maypangdan, some seven kilometers away from the provincial capital city of Borongan. Guiuan, Eastern Samar
Guiuan ( �giˌwan; war, Bungto han Guiuan, fil, Bayan ng Guiuan), officially the Municipality of Guiuan, is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines. Maydolong, officially the Municipality of Maydolong ( war, Bungto han Maydolong; tl, Bayan ng Maydolong), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 15,314 people. Etymology There are two stories about the naming of Maydolong. Officially accepted by the Sangguniang Bayan is the story of a fisherman who used to travel to the village of Matnog. Because they needed to rest from their travel along the east coast of Samar, these fisherman used to say "''Matnog it Dolong''" which means "the bow must point to Matnog" in the local dialect.
