Eastern Busway, Melbourne
The Eastern Busway is a bus rapid transit line under construction in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. It will operate alongside the Eastern Freeway, from Hoddle Street in Abbotsford to Doncaster Road in Doncaster. As a part of the North East Link project and Eastern Freeway upgrade, the entire busway is expected to commence construction in 2024 and be completed by 2028. History The concept of a busway between the Melbourne CBD and Doncaster was first proposed by Transdev, a French transport company that operated buses in Melbourne from 2013 to 2022, running from Donvale Hospital then along Doncaster Road, through the median of the Eastern Freeway, Hoddle Street, Victoria Parade and Lonsdale Street to a new underground bus terminus at Southern Cross Station. Kinetic Melbourne is a bus operator in Melbourne, Australia, operating a fleet of 602 buses on 45 bus routes, as well as seven SmartBus routes. It commenced operations on 31 January 2022, taking over all routes previously operated by Transdev Melbourne. It is a subsidiary of the Kinetic Group. Bulleen Park & Ride Bus Station
Bulleen Park & Ride is an Australian park and ride bus station and future Bus rapid transit, busway station located in Melbourne, suburb of Bulleen, Victoria, Bulleen and situated next to the Eastern Freeway, Melbourne, Eastern Freeway. It was opened on 30 April 2023 by the Government of Victoria as the first piece of public infrastructure delivered by the North East Link project. A Eastern Busway, Melbourne, dedicated busway will be constructed from Doncaster Park & Ride bus station, Doncaster Park & Ride, via this station to Hoddle Street in the city with its own Right-of-way (transportation), right-of-way.
