Downtown East Village, Calgary
Downtown East Village more commonly known as simply East Village, is a mixed-use neighbourhood within the eastern portions of downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is contained within the city's Rivers District. Containing the earliest-settled land in the Calgary area - Fort Calgary - East Village was for years a mixture of high-rise residential, commercial, and industrial development. Much of the parkland currently surrounding Fort Calgary was industrial as recently as the 1960s. Construction of the city's light rail transit Blue Line, coupled with the closure of 8th Avenue at Macleod Trail in the early 1980s by construction of the massive Calgary Municipal Building, resulted in East Village being "cut off," figuratively speaking, from the rest of downtown. As a result, it became home to many rundown properties and vacant lots over the years, and a severe crime problem. The East Village, sometimes called the "East Village Arts District," is the name of a neighborhood in Long Beach, California, within eastern Downtown Long Beach. The borders of the East Village are not strictly defined, but the area is centered in the southeast portion of downtown, roughly between Long Beach Boulevard on the west and Alamitos Avenue on the east, and Ocean Boulevard on the south to 10th Street on the north. The East Village is a mix of many different housing types, including high-rise condos, artist lofts and small craftsman cottages. East Longmeadow is a town in Hampden County, Massachusetts, United States situated in the Pioneer Valley region of Western Massachusetts. It had a population of 16,430 at the 2020 census. East Longmeadow is southeast of downtown Springfield, part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Additionally, the town is north of Hartford, southwest of Boston, and northeast of New York City. Lincoln Oval Village
Oval Park (also known as Lincoln Oval Village or simply The Oval) is a neighborhood in Visalia, California. History Oval Park is Visalia's oldest neighborhood. The first high school in Visalia was located on what is now the Lincoln Oval Park. Webster Grammar School was located in the West Village on Northwest Third Avenue near Pearl Street. It opened in 1917. In 1950, the building was declared unsafe as a school and was later converted into a maintenance shop and storage building. In 1961, fire damaged the structure beyond repair.
