East Rail Line
The East Rail line () is one of the ten lines that form MTR, the rapid transit, mass transit system in Hong Kong. The railway line starts at Lo Wu station, Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau station, Lok Ma Chau, both of which are Border checkpoint, boundary crossing points into Shenzhen and joins in the north at Sheung Shui station, Sheung Shui and ends at Admiralty station (MTR), Admiralty station on Hong Kong Island. At approximately , the line (including the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line) is the second longest line within the MTR, network, behind the Tuen Ma line. Ho Tung Lau (), is a former area encompassing roughly current day The Palazzo (Hong Kong), The Palazzo to northeast of Lok Lo Ha in Sha Tin, near the MTR and on the former shore of Tide Cove, Sha Tin Hoi, in the New Territories, Hong Kong. The name of Ho Tung Lau is derived from the name of successful businessman Robert Hotung, with the character ''Lau'' () meaning "a building" in Cantonese. Before the 1960s, the name referred to the estate of Robert Hotung's adopted son Ho Sai Wing, who bought a piece of reclaimed land near the Tide Cove, Sha Tin Hoi and built a mansion called Windermere (referencing Windermere, Lake Windermere in the United Kingdom). Lok Ma Chau Station
Lok Ma Chau is the northwestern terminus in Lok Ma Chau on the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line, a branch line of the of Hong Kong's MTR network, which was built to alleviate the immigration checkpoint between Hong Kong and mainland China's Shenzhen at Lo Wu station. MTR Corporation promotes use of Lok Ma Chau as a direct connection with and alongside of the Shenzhen Metro, the former which is also operated by the MTR Corporation. On 4 February 2020, MTR temporarily closed this station and suspended train service to and from this station following the Government's measures to contain the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lo Wu Station
Lo Wu is the northern terminus of the (Kowloon-Canton Railway) of Hong Kong, located in Lo Wu within the Closed Area on Hong Kong's northern frontier. The station serves as a primary checkpoint for rail passengers between Hong Kong and mainland China and vice versa, rather than serving a specific area. It is also the northernmost railway station in Hong Kong. MTR KTT
KTT ( zh, t=九廣通, s=九广通, order=ts) was a push-pull train set used by the MTR Corporation Limited in Hong Kong on the Guangdong Through Train route. It was used on the Guangdong line (Hung Hom (Kowloon), Hong Kong - Changping - Guangzhou East) of the through train service. The double-deck "KTT" trailers have bottom floors which are lower than ordinary cars serving on the same pair of tracks.
