East Infection
''East Infection'' is currently the only EP by Gogol Bordello, released in 2005 by Rubric Records. Released prior to the album ''Gypsy Punks'', it consists of leftover tracks from that album's sessions. The title track remains a live favourite. "Ave. B" was rerecorded as "Avenue B" for ''Gypsy Punks'', and "Strange Uncles From Abroad" was rerecorded as "My Strange Uncles From Abroad" for ''Super Taranta!'' "Copycat" is also notable for being the band's first song in the Dub music, dub style. "Mala Vida" is a Cover version, cover of a song by Mano Negra (band), Mano Negra, and "Madagascar-Roumania" incorporates a traditional Boyash folk song, "Tu Jésty Fáta" (standard Romanian: "Tu Esti Fata"). Gogol Bordello
Gogol Bordello is an American punk rock band from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, formed in 1999 by musicians from all over the world and known for theatrical stage shows and persistent touring. Much of the band's sound is inspired by Romani and Ukrainian music mixed with punk and dub, incorporating accordion and violin (and on some albums, saxophone). The band has appeared in several popular films, most notably '' Everything Is Illuminated'' (2005) in which lead singer Eugene Hütz co-starred with Elijah Wood in a dramedy/adventure story about the Nazi purges in Ukraine. The group appears playing a brass band in a set that included the "Star-Spangled Banner" and the traditional Yiddish song " Bublitschki". Steven Frank Albini (; July 22, 1962 – May 7, 2024) was an American musician and audio engineer.
