East Central High School (Oklahoma)
East Central High School is one of nine high schools in Tulsa Public Schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The school is home to 1,143 students from East Tulsa. The majority of students transition into East Central from East Central Junior High. History East Central was founded in 1904 as an independent school district. The original combined school was built on the northeast corner of what is now Admiral Blvd. and Garnett Road in 1927 that supported an elementary school, a junior high school, and high school. With the growth of the East Central district, the school built an expansion to house the High School in 1955 and built a new Elementary school on East 6th street that was completed in November 1958. In 1960 considerable damage to the high school facility at the Admiral Blvd location by high wind and school start was delayed a week. Jimbo Elrod
James Whittington "Jimbo" Elrod (May 25, 1954 – December 12, 2016) was an American football linebacker who was an All-American at the University of Oklahoma and played professionally for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Oilers of the National Football League (NFL). Elrod graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1972 and was a member of the National Championship football teams of 1974 and 1975. Elrod earned consensus All-America honors in 1975, when he had 20 tackles for loss. His 44 tackles for loss led the career list at the University of Oklahoma until 2001 (it now stands as sixth-best all-time). Elrod starred in the 1976 Orange Bowl a 14–6 victory over the University of Michigan that secured the Sooners a fifth national championship. Paula Trickey (born March 27, 1966) is an American actress. She is known for her role as Cory McNamara on the USA Network series '' Pacific Blue'' (1996–2000), and for her roles in a number of television films. Early life Trickey was born in Amarillo, Texas to Virginia (Demorest) and Harold Trickey, and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she attended East Central High School. Jim Shoulders
James A. Shoulders (May 13, 1928 – June 20, 2007) was an American professional rodeo cowboy and rancher. He is commemorated at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, ProRodeo Hall of Fame.
