East Attica
East Attica () is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Attica. The regional unit covers the eastern part of the urban agglomeration of Athens, and also the rural area to its east. Administration The regional unit East Attica is subdivided into 13 municipalities. Nea Makri
Nea Makri () is a town in East Attica, Greece. Since the local government reform of 2011, it has been a municipal unit within the municipality of Marathon. The municipal unit has an area of 36.662 km2. It is part of the Athens metropolitan area. Geography Nea Makri is situated on the coast of the Petalioi Gulf, a gulf of the Aegean Sea, in the easternmost part of the Attica peninsula. It is 7 km north of Rafina, 8 km south of Marathon and 25 km northeast of Athens city centre. The municipal unit Nea Makri also contains the village Neos Voutzas, 5 km south of Nea Makri town centre. Grammatiko
Grammatiko () is a village in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Marathon, of which it is a municipal unit. It is part of the Athens metropolitan area. Geography Grammatiko is situated in the hills of the northeastern part of the Attica peninsula, 6 km from the South Euboean Gulf coast, at about 210 m elevation. It is 4 km southeast of Varnavas, 5 km north of Marathon and 32 km northeast of Athens city centre. The municipal unit Grammatiko consists of the villages Grammatiko, Agia Marina and Sesi. Keratea () is a town in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lavreotiki, of which it is a municipal unit. Agios Konstantinos ( meaning Saint Constantine, before 1954: Καμάριζα - ''Kamariza'') is a village and a former community in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it has been part of the municipality Lavreotiki, which is a municipal unit. It was named after Saint Constantine. Geography Agios Konstantinos is situated in the hills in the southeastern part of the Attica peninsula, at about 160 m elevation. It is 4 km west of the Aegean Sea coast at Lavrio and 38 km southeast of Athens city centre. The municipal unit has an area of 10.450 km2. There are several mines in the vicinity of Agios Konstantinos and neighboring Lavrio. In antiquity it was known for silver mines, currently minerals including azurite, chalcoalumite, calcite, austinite and adamite are found. Stamata
Stamata () is a community in Athens, East Attica regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it is part of the municipality Dionysos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 18.950 km2. Stamata is a rather exclusive suburb, situated in the mountainous northeastern part of the Athenian plain, between the Parnitha and Penteli mountains, about 23 km northeast of center of Athens. Till the last decades, only the main village was inhabited, while the rural area was cultivated by the inhabitants of the village. Nowadays, there are also residences in the settlement of Amygdaleza (Αμυγδαλέζα) and the residential associations of Euxeinos Pontos (Εύξεινος Πόντος) and Prokonisos (Προκόνησος). Rodopoli (, meaning "City of Roses", before 1981: Μπάλα - ''Bala'') is a town in the East Attica regional unit, and a northern suburb of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Dionysos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 9.550 km2. Geography Rodopoli is situated in the hills in the northeastern part of the Athens conurbation, at about 400 m elevation. It lies at the northwestern foot of the Penteliko Mountain. It is 1 km south of Stamata, 2 km north of Dionysos and 19 km northeast of Athens city centre. Its built-up area is continuous with those of the neighbouring towns Drosia and Dionysos. Drosia (, meaning "dew", before 1947: Ρωσσοχώρι - ''Rossochori'') is a town in the East Attica regional unit and a suburb of the Athens agglomeration, Attica, Greece. Drosia is a mainly residential suburb, known for its location in the midst of evergreen pine forests.
