EastRider
EastRider is the brand name given to a network of long-distance bus services across the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, operated by Go-Ahead Group company East Yorkshire (bus company), East Yorkshire. The EastRider services, all operating from Kingston upon Hull, serve the destinations of Bridlington, Goole, Hornsea, Withernsea and York using a fleet of specially-branded high-specification buses. Current routes X45/X46/X47 The X46 and the X47 run from Hull Paragon Interchange to York railway station via the A1079, calling at Beverley, Market Weighton and Pocklington. Both routes depart Hull Interchange and follow Beverley Road and Hull Road, the latter serving Dunswell and Woodmansey before entering Beverley to serve the town's bus station. East Yorkshire (bus Company)
East Yorkshire operates both local and regional bus services in the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, England. Prior to acquisition by the Go-Ahead Group in June 2018, the company was known as East Yorkshire Motor Services. History East Yorkshire Motor Services was originally made up of two companies, Lee & Beaulah (set up by Ernest John Lee) and Hull & District Motor Services (set up by H. A. Harvey). In October 1926, British Electric Traction purchased the two companies. In 1968, the British Electric Traction group was sold to the Transport Holding Company, which in turn became the National Bus Company UK, National Bus Company in the following year. Until 1972, the company's livery was dark blue with a primrose band, with a white relief band also applied to the roofline of buses. The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC (sold as the Alexander Dennis Enviro400) is a low-floor bus, low-floor double-decker bus produced by the British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis since 2014, replacing the Alexander Dennis Enviro400. The Enviro400 MMC is produced at Alexander Dennis' Falkirk and Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Scarborough factories in the United Kingdom. The Enviro400 MMC is available as a complete integral bus – including an alternative styling, the Enviro400 City – or as a bus bodywork on Scania AB, Scania and Volvo Buses, Volvo chassis. Pocklington () is a market town and Civil parishes in England, civil parish at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. At the 2021 United Kingdom census, its population was 10,123. It lies east of York, and north-west of Kingston upon Hull, Hull. The Wright Eclipse Gemini is a Low-floor bus, low-floor double-decker bus body that was built by Wrightbus between 2001 and 2021, based on the single-decker Wright Eclipse design. The second-generation Eclipse Gemini 2 was launched in 2009, followed by the third-generation Gemini 3 in 2013. Additionally, the body was available on Volvo Super Olympian chassis in Hong Kong between 2003 and 2005, marketed as the Wright Explorer. The original Eclipse Gemini was launched in 2001 on Volvo B7TL chassis; from 2006, the body was also built on the replacement Volvo B9TL chassis and, from 2013, on the B9TL's replacement, the Volvo B5TL. Volvo B5TL
The Volvo B5TL is a 2-axle low-floor double decker built by Volvo. It replaced the B9TL as Volvo's Euro 6 2-axle double decker product for the UK and Irish markets. Design The B5TL is powered by Volvo's new 4-cylinder, 5.1 litre D5K-240 engine, which is rated at 240 bhp/177 kW. The move to a smaller engine is one of the weight-reduction measures implemented to the new bus. Along with its bodybuilding partner Wrightbus, the whole bus achieves a reduction of 1,000 kg comparing to its predecessor. Volvo stated that, with the smaller engine and weight reduction, the B5TL will achieve 10% improvement on fuel economy. Wrightbus offered the lightened Gemini 3 bodywork for the B5TL, which contributes 70% of the weight reduction. The MCV EvoSeti (stylised as eVoSeti) is a Low-floor bus, low-floor double-decker bus body built by MCV Bus & Coach as a replacement for the MCV DD103. It was unveiled in May 2015. Design The EvoSeti body is built on the Volvo B5TL and Volvo B5LH 2-axle chassis for the United Kingdom, as well as the tri-axle Volvo B8L chassis at either or for Hong Kong. Typically, UK examples have a single passenger door for use outside London, with Transport for London specification EvoSetis equipped with an additional central exit door for London use. Dunnington
Dunnington is a village and civil parish in the City of York and ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. The population of the civil parish was 3,230 at the 2011 census. The village is approximately east from York city centre. The parish includes the hamlet of Grimston, York, Grimston. The village was historically part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. It was then a part of the Selby District in North Yorkshire from 1974 until 1996. Since 1996 it has been part of the City of York unitary authority.
