Spiritual Beggars is a Swedish stoner metal band from Halmstad, formed by Michael Amott, who is known for his work with Arch Enemy, Carcass (band), Carcass and Carnage (band), Carnage. The band is heavily influenced by 1970s hard rock and incorporates elements of Psychedelic music, psychedelia into its music. History Spice era Spiritual Beggars was formed in 1993 by Michael Amott. Amott started the band after he left Carcass (band), Carcass. Spiritual Beggars debuted with the self-titled ''Spiritual Beggars'' in 1994 and have subsequently released albums as Michael's schedule, which also includes being a full-time member of Arch Enemy, permits. The second album, ''Another Way to Shine'' (1996) was nominated for a Swedish Grammy. Stoner Metal
Stoner rock, also known as stoner metal or stoner doom, is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of doom metal with psychedelic rock and acid rock. The genre emerged during the early 1990s and was pioneered foremost by Kyuss and Sleep (band), Sleep. Characteristics Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo and features a heavily Distortion (music), distorted, Groove (music), groove-laden bass-heavy sound, melodic vocals, and "retro" production. Due to the similarities between stoner and sludge metal, there is often a crossover between the two genres. This hybrid has traits of both styles, but generally lacks stoner metal's laid back atmosphere and its usage of psychedelic music, psychedelia.
