''Earth X'' is a 1999 comic book limited series published by American company Marvel Comics. ''Earth X'' was written by Jim Krueger with art by John Paul Leon. Based on Alex Ross' notes, the series features a dystopian version of the Marvel Universe. The series was followed by two sequels, ''Universe X'' and ''Paradise X'', and a prequel, ''Marvels X''. The universe of ''Earth X'' is designated as Earth-9997 in the Marvel Comics multiverse. The ''Earth X'' incarnation of Spider-Man made his cinematic debut in the 2023 feature film '' Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse'', depicted as a member of Miguel O'Hara's Spider-Society. Red Skull
The Red Skull is the alias of several supervillains appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by France Herron, Jack Kirby, and Joe Simon, the character first appeared in ''Captain America Comics'' #1 (March 1941), in which his secret identity is revealed to be George Maxon, but would later be Retroactive continuity, retroactively established as merely a decoy who was working for the real Red Skull, Johann Shmidt. Other individuals, including Albert Malik and the original's own daughter Sin (Marvel Comics), Sinthea Shmidt, have also adopted the Red Skull persona. In his comic book appearances, the Red Skull is depicted as a Nazi Party, Nazi agent and protégé of Adolf Hitler during World War II. Although he initially only wears a mask to give his face the appearance of a red skull, Shmidt suffers a horrific disfigurement decades later that causes his face to match his namesake. Machine Man
Machine Man (also known as Aaron Stack, Mister Machine and serial number Z2P45-9-X-51 or X-51 for short) is an android superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Jack Kirby for '' 2001: A Space Odyssey'' #8 (July 1977), a comic written and drawn by Kirby featuring concepts based on the eponymous 1968 Stanley Kubrick feature film and Arthur C. Clarke's 1968 novel. Shortly thereafter, Machine Man spun off into his own Kirby-created series. He is a robot, the only survivor of a series, raised as a human son of scientist Abel Stack, who was killed removing his auto-destruct mechanism, and further evolved to sentience by a Monolith.
