Early Years Learning Framework
The Early Years Learning Framework (commonly known as EYLF), together with the National Quality Standard (or NQS), forms the policies around early childhood education in Australia. In January 2023 the Australian Education ministers approved proposed changes and endorsed the use oVersion 2 of the EYLFunder the National Quality Framework. During 2023 early childhood providers and services can continue to usVersion 1 of the EYLFwhile integrating changes to meet the requirements of Version 2. The original version 1 will be revoked from 2024. National Quality Standard
The National Quality Standard (or NQS) is the benchmark for the quality of Early Childhood Education & Care in Australia (part of the National Quality Framework (NQF)). Aim The National Quality Standard aims to promote: * the safety, health and wellbeing of children * a focus on achieving outcomes for children through high-quality educational programs * families' understanding of what distinguishes a quality service. Quality Areas The National Quality Standard (NQS) is a key aspect of the NQF. The NQS consists of seven quality areas, each containing standards and elements, that children's education and care services are assessed and rated against. National Quality Framework
The National Quality Framework (NQF) is part of the Australian Government's agenda for early childhood education and child care focused on providing Australian families with high-quality, accessible and affordable integrated early childhood education and child care. The NQF aims to raise quality and drive continuous improvement and consistency in education and care services through: * a national legislative framework * a National Quality Standard * approved learning frameworks * a national quality rating and assessment process * minimum qualifications of staff and educator to child ratios * a new national body called the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority. Te Whāriki, or ''Te Whāriki He whāriki mātauranga mō ngā mokopuna o Aotearoa'', is New Zealand's early years curriculum guideline.
