The discography of South Korean entertainer Rain consists of seven studio albums, one compilation album, three extended plays, and thirty-three singles. His debut studio album ''Bad Guy'' was released in May 2002 and sold over 140,000 copies in South Korea. His sophomore studio album, '' How to Avoid the Sun'', was released in October 2003 and spawned the titular single, which ranked at number one of the music program charts for multiple weeks. Rain's third studio album, '' It's Raining'', was released in October 2004 and sold over one million copies across Asia according to the Korea Creative Content Agency, including over 200,000 copies in South Korea, 100,000 copies in Japan, 500,000 copies in China, and 70,000 copies in Taiwan. Jung Ji-hoon (; born June 25, 1982), better known by his stage name Rain (Korean: 비; IPA: piː, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, and record producer. Rain's musical career includes seven albums (six Korean, one Japanese), 28 singles and numerous concert tours around the world. ''Back to the Basic'' is the first Korean-language extended play by South Korean R&B and pop singer Rain. It was their first EP two years after the release their Korean-language studio album Rainism. Upon the release the EP was a commercial performance and sold more than 56,000 copies in South Korea and 8,000 in Japan as of 2013. The album peaked at number 1 in on the Gaon Album Chart and number 25 on the Oricon Albums Chart. Background As a farewell to his fans before going for 21 months of compulsory military service, Rain toured throughout Asia including Indonesia, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
