The EMLL 43rd Anniversary Show () was a professional wrestling major show event produced by Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) that took place on September 24, 1976 in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico. The event commemorated the 43rd anniversary of EMLL, which would become the oldest professional wrestling promotion in the world. The Anniversary show is EMLL's biggest show of the year, their Super Bowl event. The EMLL Anniversary Show series is the longest-running annual professional wrestling show, starting in 1934. Co., Ltd. (CMLL; , "World Wrestling Council") is a ''lucha libre'' professional wrestling promotion based in Mexico City. The promotion was previously known as (EMLL) (''Mexican Wrestling Enterprise''). Founded in 1933, it is the oldest professional wrestling promotion still in existence. Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta (23 September 1917 – 5 February 1984), best known by his ring name El Santo (English language, English: "The Saint"), was a Mexican ''Lucha libre, luchador Wrestling mask, enmascarado'' (or masked professional wrestling, professional wrestler), actor and folk hero. He is one of the most famous and iconic Mexican ''luchadores'', and has been referred to as one of "the greatest legends in Mexican sports". Perro Aguayo
Pedro Aguayo Damián (18 January 1946 — 3 July 2019) better known as "(El) Perro Aguayo" (Aguayo the dog) and El Can de Nochistlan (The Nochistlan Dog) was a Mexican wrestler through the 1970s to the 1990s. Aguayo was the first person crowned the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion, though pre-1997 title reigns are not included in WWE's official history for that title. A wrestling mask is a fabric-based mask that some professional wrestlers wear as part of their in-ring persona or gimmick. Professional wrestlers have been using masks as far back as 1915 and they are still widely used today, especially in Mexican professional wrestling. José Luis Barajas Fernández is a retired Mexican professional wrestler, or '' Luchador'' as they are called in Spanish. Barajas is best known under the ring name, El Faraón (Spanish for "the Pharaoh"), a ring name and persona he used throughout his career from his debut in 1973 until retiring around the turn of the millennium. El Fareón was originally an '' enmascarado'' but lost a '' Luchas de Apuestas'', or "bet match" to Fishman on April 23, 1973 and was forced to unmask. Mexican National Heavyweight Championship
The Mexican National Heavyweight Championship (called the ''Campeonato Nacional Completo'' in Spanish) is a Mexican lucha libre (professional wrestling) championship created and sanctioned by the Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission (Spanish: ''Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre México D.F.''). While the Commission sanctions the title, it does not promote the events in which the Championship is defended. From 1933 until the mid-1990s, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) controlled the Championship, since then AAA gained control of the championship, after the Commission granted them control of the championship. José Luis Melchor Ortiz (born July 23, 1947 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican retired ''Luchador'' (Professional Wrestler) best known by his ring name El Halcón. In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy", "good-doer", or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans.
