EMBT
EMBT (also E-MBT) is a French-German prototype of the enhanced fourth-generation main battle tank (MBT) developed and manufactured by the KNDS. The tank was presented during the Eurosatory 2018, and 2022. The new version was presented during the Eurosatory 2024. First prototype tank was presented as European Main Battle Tank in 2018 and combines a Leopard 2A7 chassis with a Leclerc 120mm turret operated by only 2 crew members instead of 3 thanks to the autoloader. Since the Leclerc features a lighter autoloading turret, compared with the manually loaded Leopard 2A7, the EMBT is lighter and has a growth potential of around 6t. Second prototype tank was presented as Enhanced Main Battle Tank in 2022 and features a 120-millimeter Ascalon main gun. Third prototype tank was presented as EMBT ADT140 in 2024 and features a 140-millimeter Ascalon main gun with an autoloader and a coaxial 20×102-millimeter automatic gun and a remote controlled weapon station with ARX30 30mm x 113mm. ...

List Of Main Battle Tanks By Generation
Main battle tanks are often classified as belonging to a particular generation, although the actual definition and membership in these generations are not defined. Soviet military planners organize tanks with the first generation of tanks up to 1950, and four generations of tanks (with the first main battle tank being the third-generation T-64), while American strategists organize main battle tanks into three generations."The Canadian Directorate of Land Strategic Concept defines three generations of Main Battle Tanks. The first generation of post World War II Main Battle Tanks includes the U.S. M48/M60, the German Leopard 1 and the British Centurion and Chieftain. The second generation includes most of the 120 mm Main Battle Tanks such as the American M1A1, the German Leopard 2 and the British Challenger. As for the third generation Main Battle Tank, they include the latest 'digital' tank such as the French Leclerc and perhaps the American M1A2 and the German Leopard 2A5." T ...

Leclerc XLR
The Leclerc XLR is a French fourth-generation main battle tank (MBT) developed and manufactured by the KNDS France. It is a modernization of the third-generation Leclerc tank with the addition of a turret-mounted remotely-operated 7.62mm caliber machine gun manufactured by Belgian company FN Herstal, additional modular armour on the turret and hull, and rear wire cage armour to protect the engine compartment against rocket propelled grenades. The components that mark this tank as fourth-generation are mostly electronic: networked architecture allowing an interface between the Thales tactical radio system, the NBC protection system, night vision equipment and the Atos-brand SCORPION Information and Command System (SICS) and associated display screens. The upgraded Leclerc comes with a counter- IED jammer, new man-machine interfaces for commander and gunner, redesigned main system computers, and a battle health monitoring system. ASCALON (tank Gun)
The ''Autoloaded and SCALable Outperforming guN'' or ASCALON is a French smoothbore 140 mm tank gun of 50 calibers designed by Nexter. This gun is currently mounted on the latest prototype of the EMBT, the Leclerc Evolution prototype and is proposed for the MGCS project. History ASCALON origins date back to the FTMA (Future Tank Main Armament) NATO programme, a joint venture formed in 1988 by then GIAT Industries, Royal Ordnance Factories and Rheinmetall. The Watervliet Arsenal joined them in 1997 and the joint venture was renamed the RGR Armament GmbH group. The outcome of this collaboration was the creation of the NATO-standard 140 mm two-piece ammunition designed to succeed the 120×570mm NATO. The French, for their part, funded the construction of a lengthened Leclerc turret armed with a 140 mm smoothbore gun. The T4 turret was unveiled in 1996. In September 2016, the T4 turret was mounted on a former Leclerc MARS recovery vehicle and christened with the nam ...

Main Battle Tank
A main battle tank (MBT), also known as a battle tank or universal tank or simply tank,Ogorkiewicz 2018 p222 is a tank that fills the role of armour-protected direct fire and maneuver in many modern armies. Cold War-era development of more powerful engines, better suspension systems and lighter composite armour allowed for the design of a tank that had the firepower of a super-heavy tank, the armour protection of a heavy tank, and the mobility of a light tank, in a package with the weight of a medium tank. The first ''designated'' MBT was the British Chieftain (tank), Chieftain tank, which during its development in the 1950s was re-designed as an MBT. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, the MBT replaced almost all other types of tanks, leaving only some specialist roles to be filled by lighter designs or other types of armoured fighting vehicles. Main battle tanks are a key component of modern armies.Main battle tank#House1984, House (1984), ''Toward Combined Arms Warfare: A Surve ...

Military Vehicles Introduced In The 2020s
A military, also known collectively as armed forces, is a heavily armed, highly organized force primarily intended for warfare. Militaries are typically authorized and maintained by a sovereign state, with their members identifiable by a distinct military uniform. They may consist of one or more military branches such as an army, navy, air force, space force, marines, or coast guard. The main task of a military is usually defined as defence of their state and its interests against external armed threats. In broad usage, the terms "armed forces" and "military" are often synonymous, although in technical usage a distinction is sometimes made in which a country's armed forces may include other paramilitary forces such as armed police. Beyond warfare, the military may be employed in additional sanctioned and non-sanctioned functions within the state, including internal security threats, crowd control, promotion of political agendas, emergency services and reconstruction, pro ...

Tanks With Autoloaders
A tank is an armoured fighting vehicle intended as a primary offensive weapon in front-line ground combat. Tank designs are a balance of heavy firepower, strong armour, and battlefield mobility provided by tracks and a powerful engine; their main armament is often mounted within a turret. They are a mainstay of modern 20th and 21st century ground forces and a key part of combined arms combat. Modern tanks are versatile mobile land weapons platforms whose main armament is a large-calibre tank gun mounted in a rotating gun turret, supplemented by machine guns or other ranged weapons such as anti-tank guided missiles or rocket launchers. They have heavy vehicle armour which provides protection for the crew, the vehicle's munition storage, fuel tank and propulsion systems. The use of tracks rather than wheels provides improved operational mobility which allows the tank to overcome rugged terrain and adverse conditions such as mud and ice/snow better than wheeled vehicles, and ...
