''E2-E4'' is a solo recording by German musician and Ash Ra Tempel founder Manuel Göttsching. Released in 1984, the album consists of one minimal music, minimalistic, hour-long electronic music, electronic track that Göttsching recorded in one take using a sequencer (musical instrument), sequencer, with improvised keyboards, metallic percussion, and guitar playing. Manuel Göttsching
Manuel Göttsching (9 September 1952 – 4 December 2022) was a German musician and composer. As the leader of the groups Ash Ra Tempel and Ashra in the 1970s and 80s, as well as a solo artist, he was one of the most influential guitarists of the Krautrock (also known as ''Kosmische Musik'') genre. He also participated in the Cosmic Jokers sessions. His style and technique influenced dozens of artists in the post- Eno ambient and Berlin School of electronic music scenes in the 1980s and 1990s. Early life As a child, Göttsching was exposed to the music of Verdi and Puccini by his mother, who was a fan of opera. He also listened to radio stations run by American and British allied forces. ''Inventions for Electric Guitar'' is the first solo studio album by guitarist and composer Manuel Göttsching. Initially, it was released with the subtitle Ash Ra Tempel VI, technically making it the sixth and final album under the Ash Ra Tempel name. This record marked a change of direction, inspired by Göttsching's foray into minimalism and technological experiments with his new studio equipment. Paradise Garage, also known as "the Garage" or the "Gay-rage", was a New York City discotheque notable in the history of dance and pop music, as well as LGBT and nightclub cultures.
